I received the following exception when installing the platform in my machine. It first installed the Chocolateyinstall for me. But the Chocolatey folder didn't have C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\chocolateyinstall\ folder in it. So the installation failed. Please advise on how to proceed on this.

I am have same issue. Customer does not allow anything installed to root of C:\, so in my case it does not exist because install is unable to write to C:\ProgramData. Would be nice to have control over where this stuff installs.

I'm getting the same exception when running the platform install.

I've let the platform installer install Chocolatey and I've tried the command line power shell approach. The result is the same exception.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi  Vinod

I looked at the issue you raised and there is a problem with the Platform Installer.  The Platform installer installs the latest verison of Chocolatey if no Chocolatey is found or the installed version is too old to work with.

Unfortunately for us  Chocolatey recently released v0.9.9. which in there own words is a large breaking change.

"... since this is a complete rewrite. We broke everything. If this were a v1+, it would be a major release. But we are less than v1, so 0.9.9 it is! ;)"

We are currently testing an updated version of the Platform Installer which will work with this version and we hope to release it ASAP to rectify the issue.
In the meantime  the problem can be worked around by using the Chocolatey command line:

I've listed the items that are installable via  the Platform Installer followed by the Chocolatey command(s) to install them

NServiceBus Prerequisites

choco install nservicebus.msmq.install
choco install nservicebus.dtc.install
choco install nservicebus.perfcounters.install

ServiceControl
choco install servicecontrol.install

ServicePulse
choco install servicepulse.install

ServiceInsight
choco install serviceinsight.install

ServiceMatrix for Visual Studio 2013
choco install servicematrix.vs2013.install

ServiceMatrix for Visual Studio 2012
choco install servicematrix.vs2012.install

Thanks for raising the issue and I'll get back to you once we have released the update

Hi  Chris

If you need more flexibility when instailing the platform products don't use the Platform installer or Chocolatey,
Individual installers are availabie for each of the platform products  from  http://particular.net/downloads ,  These allow more choice during installation

Hi

We have released an updated version of the Platform Installer to address the incompatibilities you experienced with Chocolatey v0.9.9.x

Please let us know if you have any issues with the new release,  The platform Installer is a click once app and should update when you relaunch it.
The corrected version is 1.0.0.407
