Hi,

I'm having trouble somewhere with heartbeats to Service Pulse, not quite sure on the root cause.

I've added the "ServiceControl.Plugin.Heartbeat" assembly to my endpoint, I've got the assembly bindings setup and I'm pretty sure I have these correct as heartbeats show up in the log when the endpoint starts.

The Service Pulse homepage tells me the endpoint has been confirmed to have heartbeats enabled.

If I manually stop the Service Control service, I can see heartbeat messages stacking up on the "particular.servicecontrol" queue.

However, if I look on the "Endpoints Overview" in Service Pulse, on the left section it tells me that I have no active endpoints and on the right section the endpoint is listed as an inactive endpoint with "No plugin installed".

What did I miss? I've read the docs in detail and can't spot a problem. I downloaded Service Pulse within the last week so I have an up to date version.

Thanks,

Callum

Some combination of restarting the Service Control and Service Pulse services plus completely deleting the RavenDB database from "%SystemDrive%\ProgramData\Particular\ServiceControl" has solved the problem. I am now seeing expected behaviour with respect to heartbeats.

Thanks,

Callum

Happy to hear you solved the issue, I suspect that deleting the database was the cure, but i’d love to know the root cause…

I am having some difficulty myself.  I have three endpoints selected in configuration, and when I go to the endpoints overview they are all active (last heartbeat a few seconds ago).  However my dashboard shows 2 endpoints have errors (red with a two in the upper right corner).

I had the same problem a few days ago, and did what Callum did: deleted the ravenDB and started over.  That fixed it temporarily, but now I have the same problem.

Let me know what details I can provide.  I may not be able to respond until mid/late next week.

Just wanted to add, I also have three endpoints NOT selected in configuration.  I'm guessing the un-selected ones are causing the false positive, which is why I wanted to make sure I mention it.
