I just got my Watch Fit 2 and although I am really enjoying it, I feel there's a lack of proper nice faces to install. I also know that there's a lot of other smartwatches around with a lot of nice options (Xiaomi Mibands, GT2, GT3). For them you can find Casio, Rolex, Omega, Citizen faces... Overall nice, quality options. But for Watch Fit 2 nothing... I joined a couple of Telegram groups but 95% of the faces are quite bad. I wonder where I could get some nice quality faces?

I also installed Huawei's official Theme Studio to create my own but the support is very strange. You can create your face but you can't officially deploy in your smartwatch and the lack of tutorials and clear guidelines is something (either official or not)...

I can't find my ideal watchface, so it seems I have to create my own, but I didn't find any concise information on how to do this. Is there any free tool to create a facewatch and easily upload to the watch?

But the most important is to access various watch functions by clicking the different watchface's regions. I want to 1-click access the stopwatch (e.g. by clicking on seconds), the timer (e.g. by clicking on minutes), maybe the compass.

Wear OS (aka the trimmed down version of Android for smartwatches) does natively support custom watch faces. Google provides various templates and code samples so that themers can publish stunning (sometimes weird!) custom faces for your handy little assistant.

Huawei decided to take a different route, as they designed an in-house OS dubbed as Huawei Wearable Platform. Unfortunately there was no way to create custom watch faces for Huawei/Honor watches for a long time.

The Chinese tech giant began working on a way to materialize this highly anticipated feature, but the initial outcome was rather clumsy. You need a beta version of Huawei Health app and a Chinese forum account to design the watch faces. A third party alternative exists, but the feature set is still limited.

Huawei fans are not happy with the situation, so someone actually took the matter in own hands. Huawei UK forum member dodge coded a nifty cross-platform app named Huawei Watch Face Maker, so that smartwatch owners can easily design custom watch faces.

Existing smartwatches such as Huawei Watch GT and Honor Watch Magic are supported by this utility. The interface is stylized as wizard, so that first time users can easily combine different modules and finally export the XML coded custom design as the final result.

Gadget makers are struggling to attract consumers to smart watches, which have sold in modest quantities compared to smartphones and tablets. The Apple Watch, which goes on sale next month, will either give the emerging category a major boost or confirm that wrist-worn computers are a niche interest.

Unlike the first round of smart watches, the LG Urbane or the Huawei Watch, both announced at MWC this week, might pass for conventional luxury timepieces when their round screens are in watch mode. Both are handsomely designed and come in multiple colors with metal and leather straps. Unlike most smart watches, which have toughened glass, the Huawei model, which goes on sale this summer, features a sapphire crystal face.

It was also clear on the Mobile World Congress exhibition floor today that watchmakers, fitness companies, and smartphone-makers are all exploring what they have to offer each other. The Huawei Watch was on display alongside the Talkband, a wristband with a removable hands-free Bluetooth earpiece. At a nearby stand, a wall of fitness bands revealed more colors than the rainbow.

It's been a busy week for wearables and other digital health and fitness devices, with a plethora of announcements from major consumer electronics players. Sony, Samsung, and Huawei have all unveiled their next generation smartwatches or fitness trackers, as has GPS device maker TomTom. Smart thermometer company Kinsa began crowdfunding its second product, and Withings announced a new connected alarm clock as part of its Aura sleep system. Read on for seven health tracking device news bites.

According to Mashable, Sony's new wearable, slated at least initially for a Japan release only, is something of a "backwards" smartwatch. The watchface itself is just a normal, clockwork timepiece, but the smart guts are embedded in the back part of the watchband. That's where the smart wallet; app, call, and text vibrating notifications and, yes, activity tracker can be found. The device tracks steps and calculate calories burned. Those numbers can be accessed through a companion app.
