I just wanted to post this so that others can avoid some of the headache that I had. Now keep in mind I couldn't really get a clear answer from the Maya support teams, but I talked to two different reps via chat and this is the answer it came down to at this time (mar 2021).

Services or online courses like: skillshare, lynda.com, pluralsight, udemy, etc. do not count as certified schools or technical institutions and do not qualify you for the free educational license of Maya. So even if you've paid money for the subscriptions or course materials on those kinds of sites, you'll need to buy Maya.

I would guess that if your education involves live sessions with other people and has a course end date, you'd probably qualify.

But here's the good news.

There is an indie license of Maya available that offers the full software package at a much more affordable price. There are some financial restrictions of what you can earn while under this license which you'll need to check out but it's really unlikely you'd meet the cap as you'd have to make more than some of the highest paid employees.

Here's the link: -indie-canada-en#elegible

Hope this helps

As I mentioned in the previous post, strategically curated content will always build your brand. And what you choose to do with that content determines if it will build your list and your bank account.

Creating online courses requires the biggest time investment, but it yields the greatest returns. It is definitely overwhelming to create and edit videos, workbooks, checklists, slideshows, etc. Not to mention writing the content for the course and setting up the platforms for students to have access to you and the material.

Very detail.

But I have a challenge putting together content. I always have this doubts that am using some other persons content to build mine.how do I overcome it? Has it happened to you before?

Secondly, I love shoe.I also make shoes. How can I create content around this?

#StopAAPIHate Voices is a collection of interviews that feature artists from the online exhibition #StopAAPIHate: The Voices Behind the Movement. The artists share some insight into how the movement has impacted them and their art, as well as shed some light on their own personal journeys as creators.

Each of these works gained ample attention not only from art-engaged communities, but also from broader online publics. Interfering in the endless feedback loop between the persona of the artist and the product of their practice, they intentionally confuse the identity of the artist and the artwork itself. The asynchronicity of social media forces us to watch ourselves. Logging on, we are confronted with versions of us that we have broadcast in bits and pieces of imagery, video, and quippy snippets of text. As social media platforms began infiltrating into our everyday lives in the late 2000s to mid-2010s, these artists pushed things one step further, forcing an audience to watch them watch themselves.

Since around mid-April (2020) I started hosting free online Art Journaling classes every Sunday. It was something I felt I needed to do as we were all in the midst of strict social distancing rules. I suddenly stopped seeing my family, friends, co-workers, and my students to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. I wanted a safe space to still see everyone and thought why not make it an art event?
