Taxi is an American television sitcom that originally aired on ABC from September 12, 1978, to May 6, 1982, and on NBC from September 30, 1982, to June 15, 1983. It focuses on the everyday lives of a handful of New York City taxi drivers and their abusive dispatcher. For most of the run of the show, the ensemble cast consisted of taxi drivers Alex Reiger (Judd Hirsch), Bobby Wheeler (Jeff Conaway), Elaine Nardo (Marilu Henner), Tony Banta (Tony Danza), and "Reverend" Jim Ignatowski (Christopher Lloyd), along with dispatcher Louie De Palma (Danny DeVito) and mechanic Latka Gravas (Andy Kaufman). Taxi was produced by the John Charles Walters Company, in association with Paramount Network Television, and was created by James L. Brooks, Stan Daniels, David Davis, and Ed. Weinberger, all of whom were brought on board after working on The Mary Tyler Moore Show (which ended in 1977).
You can buy scrip either by mail or in person at Metro's Customer Services Office in the King Street Center building. Most taxi companies accept taxi scrip, but you should always check when you call to request a cab. At the end of your taxi trip, you pay the driver the meter fare using taxi scrip instead of money. You do not need to use the scrip the same month you buy it; however, please note that unused scrip cannot be returned for a refund.
Many companies provide taxicab service at San Diego International Airport. If youneed a taxi, simply follow the signs leading to the Transportation Plazas. A Customer Service Representative will place you with the first available taxi, unless you specifya particular taxicab company.

The Washoe Senior Ride (WSR) Taxi Bucks program is a subsidized taxi program of the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) and is funded by the % of Washoe County sales tax allocated for public transportation. WSR provides alternative, reliable, and affordable transportation to Washoe County residents 60 years and older, RTC ACCESS clients (any age), and Washoe County Veterans (any age).
Each month WSR registered participants will receive a $60 taxi fare subsidy. Participants are issued an RTC WSR CardONE re-loadable card, which can be used to pay any part of a taxi fare. The taxi fare subsidy automatically loads each month for the duration of the program, and unused taxi fares do not roll over to the next month. This program and the subsidy are subject to available funding and may be changed or terminated by the RTC at any time.
All WSR trips must begin and end within the Washoe County, Reno-Sparks boundary. Call the taxi companies directly to schedule your rides and only the participating taxi companies will accept the RTC WSR CardONE card to pay all or part of the fare. Please tell the dispatcher whether you use a wheelchair, scooter or other mobility device.
When you pay for a taxi ride using your RTC WSR CardONE card, you must show the driver your Nevada ID issued by the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. The name on your ID card should match the name on your RTC WSR CardONE card. Inform the driver at the beginning of the trip that you will be using your RTC WSR CardONE card to pay. If the fare exceeds $60, you must pay the remaining amount with cash or a credit card.
If a driver refuses to accept your RTC WSR CardONE card or you have any other concerns with the driver or taxi service, you should file a formal complaint with the Nevada Transportation Authority at (775) 687-9790 or visit nta.nv.gov.
A taxi rank (or taxi stand, taxicab stand, etc.) is a place where taxis wait for passengers. Often found at airports, hotels, railway/bus/subway stations, large shopping centers or other places people congregate.
There are isolated cases around the world where boat taxis exist, like in Venice. These are on demand vehicles that are often based on a pier and can be hired from there like a normal taxi. Not to be confused with some other self-called "Taxi Boats" where there are several different passenger hopping on and cruising trough a fixed route, where ferry tagging more suitable is.
Some taxis are equipped with car seats so you can travel with small children. If you book a taxi in advance, you must inform the taxi company that you require a seat in the car. Small pets can travel at the discretion of the driver, although travelling with guide dogs is always permitted.
There is a fixed airport transfer of 33 euros, which applies 24 hours a day every day of the year for services to and from the airport and to or from the area inside the M-30 ring road. If you are in a hurry, it's better to get a taxi that has priority when driving through certain streets, such as access to the departures areas of the airport.

There are various private taxi companies you can ring to order a taxi, although you need to bear in mind that the metre will be turned on as soon as the driver starts heading towards your location. There are also mobile apps available, however, that will only start charging you once you get into the taxi.
No reservations are necessary for taxi service. Simply follow the signs for Ground Transportation or Taxi to the lower level of the Terminal, DOWN the ramp to Door 2 or Door 6. A customer service representative is available 24-hours a day.
The City of River Falls has received State and Federal grant dollars to help fund a shared-ride taxi program. This taxi service is open to anyone and covers the area within the City of River Falls as well as five miles outside the city limits.
Most kayakers planning their own trip access the park via a water taxi or charter boat from Seward and get dropped off in Aialik Bay, Northwestern Lagoon or Bear Glacier Lagoon. Most water taxi operators can also assist in the drop off/pick up aspects of trip planning. While most commercial entities operating in the park are required to have a commercial use authorization (CUA), many water taxi services actually operate outside of park boundaries (i.e. below the mean high-tide line), so are not required to have a CUA.
