"But in the Book of Deuteronomy 16, it says that in a matter of
discontent the High Priest of the present can teach how to keep the
tradition - Means, writing a new halachic [religious] decision. High
Priest Jecob b. Aaron[1840-1916] has limited the length of the
impurity for those who touch the dead body, carry it or even touch the
tomb - to one day, all for keeping the honor of the dead and let the
life of living persons who carried it stream well.. He kept the
principle of the commandment just shortened the number of days of
impurity in regard to touching dead or grave.."
^ He meant to type "Deuteronomy 17".
This obviously shows their Halakha strays from the straightforward
meaning in order to misuse this passage for Halakic ends which it
doesn't have in mind. The only main difference among the Samaritans is
that the authority making new regulations is the High Priest instead
of a rabbi.
