filtered autocorrelation in Parselmouth

Dear Yannick Jadoul,

I am currently working on a research project at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Germany within the Department of Psychological Assessment, Personality Psychology, and Intervention. As part of our current workflow, we are using Praat and heavily rely on Parselmouth to integrate acoustic analyses. 

Specifically for this project, we are looking to calculate filtered autocorrelations. I read that you have already been working on integrating this into Parselmouth.

Since this feature would be incredibly valuable for our current project, I wanted to kindly ask if you have an estimated timeline for when this integration might be released. Alternatively, if there is a specific workaround we could test in the meantime, we would be very happy to look into it.

Thank you for your kind words, and my apologies for the (too) long delay in response!

It's great and genuinely motivating to read how you've been able to put Parselmouth to use, thanks you!

Regarding the filtered AC: It sounds like you've already read some of the other questions people have asked?

But as a short summary, it requires me to update the internal Praat version (as the current one is 6.1.38, I believe) inside of Parselmouth. And while that already partially worked, there have always been still a couple of issues and checks that I've wanted to attend to before releasing a new Parselmouth version of which I can be sure it nicely works. And the problem is that with all the other work, I haven't found the time or energy, unfortunately.

But yes, it's getting more and more untenable to not update, so I should really try to take a few shortcuts. So I guess I will try to do my best to step up and get out a new version by the time Python 3.15 comes out (October). I can't really promise, but I'll put it higher on the list of priorities again!

Meanwhile, I can help you with an intermediate solution to install the current "development" version. That one definitely has the filtered AC, but it's just not been released yet. But I can point you to the version you could download and install, if you would like that?
