Hello all,

I've heard from a few devs who would be interested in being a mentor
for GSOC this year. However, only one person has signed up on the
google-melange.com website. Will anybody who is willing to be a mentor
and/or a backup mentor this year please go to that website and sign up
to be a mentor? Since different mentors want to work on different
types of projects, knowing who we have available can help us steer
students in the right direction. Last year we had one or two
good-looking proposals that we couldn't accept because we couldn't
match the student up with a mentor who was willing to do those
projects. I would like to avoid those kinds of situations this year,
and make sure all proposals are mentor-able.

We have three proposals submitted from students already, feel free to
peruse those as well. I am expecting to see several more in the coming
days. The proposal deadline is on Friday, so things will heat up
towards the end of the week.

To any prospective students reading this email: Start getting your
proposals drafted as soon as possible. Get in touch with me if you
have questions about project ideas or the proposal drafting process.

Thanks.

Andrew: Can you provide a link to the relevant part of the website?

(The layout has changed since past years and I don't immediately see where to go to review proposals for Parrot.)

Thank you very much.

My interface might look a little bit different since I'm an "Org
Admin". On the left side I see a "My Dashboard" which takes me to a
new screen. There I see a link for "proposals submitted to my orgs".
If that's not what you see, I might need to grant you some kind of
permissions. If so, send me your google login ID and I'll see what I
can do.

Go to the main site.

One of the links in the middle is "or register as a mentor" - I
clicked on that, verified the data, resubmitted.

Then, the center content has a link for "mentors: apply now! Apply to
one of the accepted organizations." - clicked on that, searched for
parrot, submitted the application with a note to the admins.

Hope this helps.
