Controller was connected via bluetooth and seen by windows as xbox wireless controller but the device couldn't be found under device list. Games like warzone didn't find it and assassin's creed odyssey wouldn't work well.

I recently got a series X controller to replace my wired 360 controller that I've been using for PC and found that windows 7 can't locate the driver automatically after some digging I found the raw driver files on Microsofts update catalog the two files not listed (DFU) are the drivers download and unzip the file and in device manager right click the controller and select update drive chose to search the computer for a driver or let me chose the driver and in the window that pops up browse to the folder and select it the controller with vibrate immediately and it's name in device manager with change to Xbox gaming device

Still new to Arch, but I've been glued to the wiki's regarding troubleshooting. I'm trying to get a Xbox Series S wired USB controller working with either xpad or xboxdrv. Steam identifies the controller as "Xbox One Controller." The controller input is received in configuration. The controller appears recognized, but games do not respond to it at all.

I am on Windows 7 and have got an Xbox Series X Controller. Here (screenshot) it says that the controller is supported by Windows 7/8.1 via a USB cable. However, when I do so, the controller can't get recognized by Windows. It seems that it needs a driver to get work. So, where can I get one? Or are there other solutions?

The firmware of the Xbox Wireless Controller used to cause loops ofconnecting / disconnecting with Bluez. The best workaround for now isto plug (via a USB cord) the controller to a Windows 10 computer, download the xbox accessories application, and update the firmware ofthe controller.

Ah, bloody beautiful! Been looking for the such for quite some time but had no such luck. I tried to convert win2k xb360 drivers over in the past (controller only worked as far as detect but controller buttons showed half down/pressing on their own ) .

This driver should support all Xbox One and Xbox Series controllers but you might need to update the controller firmware (using the Xbox Accessories App on Windows 10 or the Xbox itself). It also works with all Xbox Wireless Adapters but the older (larger) adapters require a small change to the Linux kernel. This will be included in the next MiSTer linux kernel release (thanks Sorgelig!) but for now I have a compiled kernel available in github you can use.

This driver supports the Nintendo layout of those controllers to exposes them correctly as button A, B, X, and Yas labelled on the device. This is swapped compared to the original Xbox controller layout. However, this feature isnot enabled by default. If you want to use this feature, you have to add a quirk flag to the module options:

Breaking change: Users of previous versions of the driver may want to remove their custom SDL mappings. Fullsupport has been added for these controllers and broken mapping of previously versions no longer needs to beapplied. See also: SDL.

Xbox 360 Controllers are using proprietary protocol to communicate with PC\console via USB and Wireless.Driver for it is implemented in XUSB22.sys that comes with Windows (was separate driver package earlier).Under the hood there are so called Krypton Packets (codename of wired controller) on USB bus and Argon Packets (wireless controller RF codename) for wireless controllers. Driver produces XInput interface and HID interface (consumed by legacy DirectInput). Under HID it lacking vibration support and LT/RT only under one axis.

Xbox One controllers are using proprietary protocol called GIP (Gaming Input Protocol) for USB and Wireless, also HID for Bluetooth (on newer controllers). Driver implementation lying in xboxgip.sys. It provides XInput interface and USB HID interface. Under HID it lacking vibration, LT/RT under one axis, LT/RT motors (so called impluse triggers) are not working.Wireless controllers are using Wifi packets on physical level with incapsulated GIP in them.

You can try to reverse engineer those protocols/drivers via IDA PRO debugger, USB sniffing etc. PDB symbols are available from Microsoft Public PDB service (IDA will download them automatically):xusb.sysxboxgip.sys

Thanks to the built-in Windows controller driver, you won't need any special software for your PC (or most games) to immediately recognize your Xbox gamepad. There are a few different ways to connect an Xbox controller to PC wirelessly, though, and a few things you should know about the different iterations of the Xbox One controller specifically.

The easiest way to do that is with the officially licensed Hyperkin Duke controller, a painstaking recreation of the monstrous original pad. This updated version comes with a USB cable for easy plug-and-play with modern systems. But if you really want to use your old Duke or S controller from an original Xbox, you can buy this adapter and pair it with the XB2XInput driver to make the 20+ year old controller play nice with your PC.

Ended up solving this. Turns out I had an old XBox 360 controller driver installed in addition to the XBox One controller driver. I removed the XBox 360 controller driver and now the gamepad works as expected.

The Xbox 360 Controller for Windows retail product will include a driver for Windows XP-based PCs. The wired Xbox 360 Controller, which comes with the core Xbox 360 system, will also work on Windows XP-based computers after users download the available driver from Microsoft. The Controller has a 9-foot breakaway controller cable that plugs into a standard USB port.

I tried to connect my xbox controller to my MacBook, even though the controller is registered in bluetooth setting, but it doesn't function at all.Have anyone met the same problem and if there's a fix for this problem
