Job Title: Digital Marketing Intern
Dates of Positions: Year-round availability
Time Commitment: 10-20 hours per week
Summary: This position is for a student with strong web, html, and communications skills. The candidate should have an eagerness to learn and gain experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and have an interest in the nonprofit field and The Federation’s mission.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington (www.shalomdc.org) is a community building organization that cares for those in need, deepens engagement in Jewish life, and connects Jews to each other locally, in Israel and around the world.
Duties:
· Assist marketing team in writing for, editing and coordinating new community website
· Proofreading
· External communications
· Analytical data tracking
· Compile data and resources
· Independent Problem solving
· Assist with tasks and special projects as assigned or as time allows
Knowledge/Skills Required:
· HTML
· Familiarity with CSS and/or DNN platforms
· Experience with more than one CMS
· Google analytics
· Social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, etc.
· Educational background and/or experience in marketing, public relations, web communications or interactive media
· Strong multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills
· Attention to detail
· Motivated, common sense, creative flair and flexibility
· Willingness to learn and take direction

· Proofreading marketing materials
· Update media contacts list
· Track media impressions
· Organize and maintain photo database and other electronic files
· Compile data
· Gather marketing materials
· Perform miscellaneous office duties and administrative assistance
· Assist with tasks and special projects as assigned or as time allows
Knowledge/Skills Required:
· Educational background and/or experience in marketing, public relations or related field
· Strong multi-tasking, communication, organizational and presentation skills
· Strong writing skills and knowledge of AP style
· Works well in a team-based environment
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and the World Wide Web
· Attention to detail
· Motivated, common sense, creative flair and flexibility
· Willingness to learn
