Hi guys,

Olivier Jacob tried to upload a video from the Jugl one month ago.
It has problem to upload it (and me to) and posted a mail to the group.
His mail seems to have been keep for moderation but wasn't released.
We wait for the end of Devoxx France pressure, but now can you do something for its mail and for our problem ?

Regards,
Philippe

Hey,

can you resend your email. I can`t seem to find one from that time.
One problem i see is that you`ll not be able to publish talks which have been created
with the old publisher (before the devoxx france release of the new html parleys.com).

Hello Benjamin,

thanks for your attention.

So I had two problems (within 2 separate messages) :
  1) I created a presentation in the publisher and was not able to upload it to Parleys. I saw that you switched Parleys' version during Devoxx FR and installed the new version of the publisher, kept the same project (unchanged) and tried to upload it, without success. Error 2038 if I remember correctly.
  2) With the deployment of the new version of Parleys, one of our presentations disappeared (A whirlwind tour of web services) from the JUGL channel. I tried to reupload it but got the same error.

From what you say, I understand that the two problems are actually caused by the publisher version.

What do you think we can do to succeed in uploading both presentations, without having to start all over ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Olivier

Hi Olivier.

Regarding your first problem with the failing upload: I had problems updating Publisher (had to do a second install next to the first one) and Adobe AIR at some point. To clean things up I uninstalled both Publishers as well as Adobe AIR and re-installed the most current Publisher (6.0.3). After that everything worked fine.

The second problem with the missing presentation occurred for one of our talks as well. I just disconnected the presentation from our channel (which resets the presentation ID, Publisher will also tell you), reconnected it and did the upload again. After that the presentation was online and worked.

Just in case you run into a third problem I have ever since the new platform is online: Updating the presentation from Staging to Public state doesn't work for me anymore via Publisher (using version 6.0.3). But when you browse to the presentation online while logged in (so you can see the Staging presentations) simply hit the Edit button at the lower right of the video/slides window. There you'll find a Visibility section where you can make your presentation public. Two things: Don't look for a Save button, there is none :) And refresh your browser window when looking for the presentation in Public state; it showed up for me only after doing that.

Hope that helps.

Cheers, Björn
