some notes editing breizhcamp sessions on parleys publisher html5
  • can't CREATE a speaker. I launched Air publisher to create one then was available to the speaker list. Search by name may be ambiguous, please add mail / twitter
  • a new presentation is "Public" by default. I suggest to set as Staging
  • when editing timeline, sliding the chapter mark stop the video for playing. Air publisher allowed to place chapter mark without having to re-run the video again and again - probably not technically trivial, but significant usage regression
last note :
  • THIS IS JUST AWESOME ! I never went to get all 2012 talks published, as it was difficult to distribute the work load. Now I "just" have to encode my video and upload to youtube, and team help me publish the talks. I even don't need to cut the begining/end as this can be done on youtube as well. I just miss an option to enhance the audio (level, noise reduction, ..) - youtube has video filters but no audio one. With such a feature I could batch encode all sessions videos without even having any manual step. Anyway this already is a huge progress, we have 5 sessions published one week after the conference, just limited by my Internet upload bandwith - and spare time :)

another (simpler ?) feature request

timeline is created by distributing slides with equal timing. When talk starts with a long delay on first slides, I have to move all the remaining ones one by one (or maybe I missed something ?). I'd like some way to "compress" the remaining timeline when I slide a chapter mark to the right. Current behavior is to change the slide orders when current selected mark overlap the next one.

my 2 cents...

Another good feature would be having a real full screen player.
In full screen mode there is a big bottom tab that prevents watching demos with precision.

thx

that`s funny i`ve just committed that - will be in the next deploy next week.
It will work like this: When in fullscreen mode and the mouse is not moved for 4 seconds the
bottom nav will completely disappear - when you move the mouse it will come back.
Does that should like your request?

Hey Nicolas,

with compress you mean move them all? So when you select a slide all slides after the
one you drag are dragged by the same amount? Or should also the timing/distance between them change?

We`ve just added searching by email as well - will be available next week

Once the publisher is ready there will be a different way to create a "real" presentation. This will then be in staging as long as you work on it. Right now the "Upload" is really only meant
to quickly get a PDF online that`s why it`s set to Public right away.

  • when editing timeline, sliding the chapter mark stop the video for playing. Air publisher allowed to place chapter mark without having to re-run the video again and again - probably not technically trivial, but significant usage regression
That`s also already committed and will be deployed next week!

That sounds encouraging thx! Good to see you`re still motivated even with all the issues this beta has :-) Should get really smooth in the coming month. One idea we have is that you can upload the videos through parleys and parleys will put them on youtube. This would allow us to add
some preprocessing (like audio noise reduction). Could this work for you? Do you prefer to cut your videos on youtube? If so is it easier there? What`s parleys missing here? :-)

Thanks for all this valuable feedback!

Right, would be an option. I guess runtime noise reduction isn't feasible

yes, probably something like this to autoscale the remaining timeline
