I think this forum is a very good idea. Congratulations, Angel, for
starting it. I have also had my fair share of run-ins with nasty
members of the RA. This chap (hint: he is not young) was particularly
abrasive and had the cheek to shout at me in front of my house and my
kid.
However, I would propose that you restrict membership in your
alternative forum to residents in the community. Otherwise, you will
have all sorts of nuts in the forum, making all sorts of unnecessary
(and occasionally racist) comments.

Welcome tmh,

Guess what? We have those nuts already in Parkville official forum, I
heard there are already racist comments originated from cats and dogs
issue. Not forgetting some do come from the RA itself. That is why I
believe if they are trouble makers they will be even if you restrict
or shut them up, I have also setup rules for the forum, those not
following will be dealt with accordingly. Please inform me if you do
see any problem with any post.

I am looking forward to your contributions as a member here. Please
enjoy your stay.

Sounds good. You can always ban members who post dumb comments. I am, however, slightly wary about airing our dirty laundry to people who should have no business to know. No benefit to us, only a lot of costs!

Glad you've found your way here. "Welcome to the dark side" LOL!

I think the word dirty laundry does not apply here if there is no
conspiracy being cooked up behind our backs. But recent events has
shown and proven that something is cooking and it smells very foul.

I am not sure if your nasty ran-in with the old chap is the person
same as mine but mine was a little more comical. I did attend the 999
emergency meeting with parkville owners, and during the meeting,
confirms all that has been said by Angel and Obama earlier. Those old
chaps were threatening the poor uninformed owners that IF we were to
object to their progress with Sunway and MBPJ, the whole RA team will
resign on the spot! Yes, he literally said it, we will resign now! So
what can we expect the poor unsuspecting owners who turned up for the
meeting to say? Who wants to rock the steady boat out of a sudden?
This was a great strategy of surprising your enemies until they have
no choice but to reluctantly CHEER them on to continue their vision of
prison like community.

And the funny part is, almost at the end of the meeting, one of the
old chap was clearly NOT HAPPY with my previous comments on the forum,
i vaguely remember word for word what he has said but its along these
lines "If he (davidlim) is around here, I will give him ONE TIGHT
SLAP!" & "Davidlim is one trouble maker and he thinks he can instigate
people not to pay maintenance" & "If I see him now, I will sound him
nicely and teach him a lesson he remembers until 10 generations" The
best part is I was just watching him saying this and he does not know
I am there listening to him.

Few things came into of my mind, is this how the RA should behave?
like thugs? If people are not in agreement with RA, we are trouble
makers? If people question their decisions, they will resign and force
you to take over? This is the 1st time I encounter such people. The
people supposedly serving in the RA should be committed to take care
ALL resident/owners of parkville, not their own self glorification and
benefit.

It has gone out of hand, the RA old chap thinks he owns the whole of
Parkville. And we owe him our lives. Now we are stuck in a prison like
entrance and who will take responsibility? I can tell you now, they
will say its MBPJ directives! I will bet my house on that! They will
deny knowing or condoning or agreeing to such a planning from the
beginning. I can tell you, they will lie and lie their way out.

By the way, I forgave the old chap for what he has said during the
meeting, because karma will come and explode soon. Who deserves it?
Only time will tell.

Hi All

I guess this is a much better place to hang out.
BTW The wasp issue behind my house has NEVER been attended to. I guess we should be waiting for some kid who is allergic to wasp to be bitten for actions to be made.
I have mentioned to the guards on 4 occasions and he assured me something will be done.
3 weeks has passed.
Called MBPJ and of course I felt like I am the one who built the nest for the wasp. If only MBPJ can see my raised middle finger while speaking to them.
I shall post the picture of the ever growing wasp nest soon for everyone to 'appreciate' - beautifully crafted unlike our Guantanamo Bay fence.

Hi Nat,

You are right, this is indeed a better place to hang out. Hope we will
find more peace and tranquility than the tightly controlled RA forum.
The RA have to explain why on earth is there a need to move the guard
house so inward and force all of us to accept the prison like fences.
This has to be answered. The truth has to be told.

I believe we are talking about the same person here. You should have
seen the arrogance in his face when he said those words and his hands
pointing and slapping the air. I am sure many who did attend can
attest to what he has said during the 999 meeting. I was surprised to
hear such words uttered in an open meeting, I wonder if those words
will be said again in public address in the future. I certainly hope
so, let it be an eye opening to all owners.

Could be. But I would draw a line between the moron and the guards. The latter are actually quite helpful (e.g. wasp removal) and I don't think they get an easy ride from the little emperor either. Imagine having to take directions from that p*&d*k. So spare a thought for the guards.

Hi Nat,

By the looks of things, seems like someone is paying attention to our
forum more than theirs especially taking into account we have only
started this merely few days back. Its good to know the wasp has been
taken care of. Let's see if they will take us more seriously now.

Sometimes they forgot the money used to pay the guards are coming from
all owners here. Why should there be any extra privileges for those
serving in the RA? I do respect and appreciate the guards we have now,
they are well trained and well mannered.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Lucky for us that you were able
to account to us the whole episode during the 999 meeting, its truly
shocking to know. But ever since dealing with them, its no surprise
such thing will occur. This has to stop.

I do wonder now if there is a development award for "Malaysia's Prison-
like Township Award", I think Parkville will win hands down.

door neighbor to join, spread the word, for those of you who are able

Dear Wati,

Calm down a little my dear...

I believe it was a meant to remind rather than to humiliate anyone for
missing their maintenance payment. Paying the maintenance fees is all
of our responsibility as owners of Parkville units. If we need the
services of the guards to keep us worry-free at night then we have to
pay, if we need landscapers to maintain our gardens to be healthy and
beautiful, the we have to pay. Make sure you pay on time because our
payments is what keeping the guards still at work day and night. I
would not compromise anything less for the security of my family.

I am not sure if you are aware that many places in kota damansara area
and PJ now have frequent break-ins during the daytime period, where
everyone is out for work and no one is at home. Living in Parkville is
almost stress free now which is a rarity in these tough economic
times. So be thankful that our guards are still at work day and night
keeping us safe.

Quickly ask your neighbor to pay up if they have yet to do so. Let's
do our part to make this a better place.

Hi everyone,

First off, thanks Angel, for setting this up. It's very refreshing to
see that quite a few of Parkville's residents are doing whatever they
can to put the neighborhood in the best light possible, since Sunway,
MBPJ (and the RA it appears) have truly fallen short in their
deliverables.

Hubs and I just bought a house on 3/37 and although we are not
affected by the fence, it does look odd. The fence cutting off the
park is even worse. But it doesn't look like there's much we can do
about that now, can we? It's clear that most of us feel horribly
shortchanged with Sunway, and I wonder what else we can do to keep
Parkville as how we want it to be. It's bad enough that we have to
cough up so much money to fix our houses, but to also have to cough up
more unnecessary funds to put in place what we never agreed to in the
first place is just so draconian.

When's the next RA gathering, by the way?

Welcome rahsoft,

I sincerely apologize to you if my choice of words & example referring
the cat & dog post in the RA controlled forum was not suitable, it was
not my intention at all mislead anyone here. I merely used it as an
example, if I misunderstood it please forgive me as I have just heard
it from my neighbor who is following closely the RA controlled forum.
It is a 2nd information, and I should have read it myself before using
it as an example here. I have never read what was written so it was my
fault to jump into conclusion this quick. I am truly sorry. Thank you
for pointing out my mistake.

david lim has also encountered a pretty rough run-ins with the RA as
he has related his story to us earlier. I think here is safe to relate
your own personal experience because we respect your privacy and your
stand over matter arising from the RA, Sunway and MBPJ. No one here
will be targeted or bullied to accept unwillingly.

I do hope you find this place enjoyable and looking forward to more

With regards to this forum, I think it is getting a bit heated ..
good or bad.

Perhaps as moderator you could ask people not to make reference to
other poster characteristics that are not relevant to the issue of
parkville such as language.
It just makes this forum lose all credibility.

I refer to Tian Ming Huang who wanted to make an issue of the command
of the English Language.
I didn't think much of his language command either, and Tian if you
are reading and want a challenge on English be my guest.
I'm British born and raised and married to a malaysian, so you won't
be able to put me down.
So its best you leave such comments at home.

Sorry Angel Tan, got to make a point on language bullies.

Anyway, since I'm currently out of the country, can anyone bring us

Hi Angel -

 

I would appreciate it if you could please remove my e-mail address from your mailing list / forum. The honest truth is that the forum, in my humble opinion, is not serving its purpose, which is active discussion for the betterment of our little community. Instead, it has become an arena for free for all sniping between residents (and some non-residents too, I suspect). Rather than uniting us, the forum has catalysed movements in the opposite direction.

 

Meanwhile, the real issues - whether or not we are a real gated community, the location of the guardhouse, etc, - have remained unresolved. And it is these issues which impact on our comfort in Parkville as well as the values of our units, not whether or not one of us speaks better English than another, whether or not so and so are losers and whether or not some of us engage in extramarital affairs.

 

None of the above is your fault, Angel. Perhaps what you need are better contributors (another reason for my withdrawal from the forum).

 

I am not only leaving the forum but I will also be moving away from Parkville very soon. I would therefore like to say goodbye to everyone. It has been interesting to say the least. A special shout out to Angel and Mark Cheong, two people who have put their money where their mouth is and really taken it upon themselves to make Parkville a better place to live in. I must also mention David Lim for writing what have been some of the best and funniest 'fiction' I have read in a long time.

Dearest Tian Ming,

It is our loss that you will be moving so soon. Thank you for all your
contributions thus far and you have been well mannered in your posting
and also very supportive of our causes. I will delete your membership
here as per your request but you are welcome to rejoin or update
yourself with the progress in Parkville anytime as it will still be
opened for public viewing. I have no intention to clamp down on any
post unless they violate the forum rules because it is the only way
people can be free to express their thoughts and feelings openly
without prejudice or targeted by some people.

I have no choice but to promote openness here because there is no
other place will allow that, if you get what I mean. Anyway, I will be
monitoring closely and will try to promote betterment for our
community now and for the future. I do regret that you and others got
into a snipping competition here just before you leave but at the end
we are here because we can freely express and in return would respect
each others' opinions, this is nothing personal and hopefully bygones
will be bygones.

You are correct to mentioned that issues with the guard house remains
unresolved mainly because of secrecy of information by the previous RA
and I do hope from now onwards with the new committee members for 2009
things will be ever more transparent. That is why we need to have an
open forum to openly discuss without prejudice or fear.

You will not be forgotten but remembered as a good contributor &
supporter to our forum. You will be greatly missed so do drop by
anytime to update us your whereabouts and your contribution is still
relevant although you may not be living in Parkville in the near
future.
