Defective House!

I am grateful to the RA for discussing and finally getting something
done that is owed to us from Sunway. We have long been cheated left
right centre. Just want to share my experience here abit.

Just on Christmas day, my whole house electricity blew up, yes, BLEW
UP!, the meter caught fire and DB box were having sparks earlier. Not
knowingly, we just ignored the buzzing and sparkling sound. My wife
thought it was some strange sounds and its my fault for not paying
attention to her "complaints". As I tend to ignore her rants about the
kids, house, car, friends and etc. We are quite lucky that our house
did not caught fire while we were sleeping or when we were out. The
fire slowly died itself out..lucky for us!

TNB people came over to inspect and said that I am not the first to
experience this. I am very surprised to hear that. And I thought water
leaking is bad enough, now we are living in a potentially fire
hazardous home. I am quite lost on how to protect ourselves from
getting burned alive again.

Just an advice to all, buy fire insurance and insure everything in
your house, better be safe. I am very disappointed with the
workmanship done by Sunway, cheat us with low quality materials and
now playing fire with our lives. This is just too much. I am beggining
to ponder sueing Sunway on this matter and demand compensation for
rewiring our home to good quality materials.

Anyway, thanks Angel for inviting me over after few months ago we has
been emailing each other. Looking forward to enjoying my stay with you
guys.

I totally agreed with you, thanks for sharing. I have called my friend
who is electrician to check my whole house just now.Guess what i have
change quite a lot defective things in the DB box. That guy even found
sand in it, he claimed this can cause fire, i am very lucky to
checked. Angel for heaven sake why do you informed the rest of them
regarding this issue. GOD Bless you for this blog, if not i will be
the next victim.

Thanks for sharing your unfortunate incident with our members here.
Its indeed very informative at the same time scary to read. Hope your
case will the last one in Parkville.

Let's make this place a better place for information sharing and may
we work hand in hand to get Sunway responsible for all the mess they
have created.

Hi,

Something came to my mind yesterday because of the fire issue that I
had, I am thinking about the fire insurance of our townhouses for
2009.

We have since paid fire insurance fees to Sunway these many years, and
will they bill us again or we need to purchase it individually now?

Can someone clarify this before something unfortunate that might
happen to anyone someday and nothing is worse to know that you were
not covered by any insurance.

I always thought Sunway is a reputable developer until this... I shall
think twice in buying another property from them
