Just got back from my long CNY holiday. Something came into my mind
about the location of the upcoming AGM. By the looks of things, the
"community hall" seems to be still under construction and by my
estimation it does not look like its going to be completed or fit for
an outdoor/indoor event by 15 Feb 2009.

I certainly doubt there will be Certificate of Fitness (C.F.) issued
in time for the AGM. So are we going to occupy the building
unlawfully? Should we compromise our safety just because some people
wants to show off their new toy in Parkville? What if something
collapses or damaged during the event, who is going to be responsible?
As far as I know, insurance company does not insure a building that
does not have any CF issued by the local authority. So my biggest
concern is people's safety. I wonder anyone can check if what I am
saying is correct?

I do hope someone from the RA is reading david's concern. Can someone
from the RA explain why the venue must be at the community hall while
its clearly not completed or certified safe for occupation in time for
the AGM? He has brought up a serious matter for us to think about.
Thanks david for the heads up. We need more residents and members like
him to spot glaring problems which the RA most of the time could not
see.

Anyone from the RA wants to speak on this matter? Or the RA nowadays
putting their heads into the ground like an ostrich - very unwilling
to face questions? I do hope at the AGM, the RA will be able to answer
our questions put to them.

Dear angel,

No point asking the RA to respond here. Let them explain to us at the
AGM. If the location is maintained at the incomplete community hall,
then I would not attend with my family. I fear for their safety. As of
to date, the building is still not fit for use yet. Has the RA not
come to their senses that the building is not a suitable place for
such a huge gathering? Certainly david & angel has a legitimate
concern here. Let's be patient and see whether is a good call by the
RA or a screw up again.

Dear readers,
I am not in any alliance with any party but I can't help to give my
view on this. I don't get it , Why you all so sticky on CF? There are
many buildings in this country is without CF-worst people live there
24/7. Even if using canopy, if heavy rain or strong wind, it is even
more dangerous ...like last year...it can topple anytime easily. At
least last Sunday was good ...a proper shelter on our head and it was
not that bad after all we can save up the money from renting canopy.
It can also accomodate hundred over people and I saw there are still
many seats available. It is our money after all and we must be careful
with expenditure at all times.
BTW, were you all there? I was hoping to see some protest and further
questioning on the guard house but you guys were either don't care or
chicken...or is it no balls?

Good Day,
Nik

Hi Nik,

Welcome to the alternative forum.

Nice to see some RA supporters here (although you might want us to
think otherwise but its ok).

We were there. We were there to observe. And we did guess right. Most
of the "supporters" were own family members. Otherwise how can they be
voted in again and again..next year...and again...mark my words.

Whats the point of raising the guard house issue when we already know
the answer they will give, plus do we expect the guard house to be
torn down just because people are not happy with the location? Let's
get real first. The fact of the matter is they went ahead with the
guard house despite of people protesting. Now since its built, you
expect any different by questioning during the AGM?

Well you are entitled to your views and we respect that.

And sorry I have no balls. I am a female.
