Facebook acts up in chrome, and wonder if anyone has the same issue. When typing, and this is only on facebook, it delays, and comments and messages I write show up 5-10 seconds after I type it. Only facebook, figured it was something with facebook, but works awesome on Opera and Edge. I removed all the extensions on chrome, and cleared cache/history. I logged off all my other facebook log ins (messenger on my phone for example), just can't figure it out.

It doesn't appear that there has been any recent work on this package (last successful builds 4/20/14) and I don't use it so I can't speak to it's efficacy which might have changed since facebook decided to drop support for facebook messenger for Windows but there is an old article about it here. My search hasn't come up with anything more current for Ubuntu (Although there is the f8 app for Andrioid and IOS) it doesn't appear to be installable on Ubuntu.

Facebook cover photos are 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall for desktops, and 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall for mobile. The photo should be less than 100 kilobytes. If your uploaded image is smaller than these dimensions, Facebook will stretch it to fit, making it appear blurry.

When designing your Facebook cover photo, you need to be careful because the cover image is displayed differently on mobile and desktop. Although, designing with safe zones in mind will get you a Facebook cover photo that will display properly on both devices.

With all that being said, we recommend using the Facebook cover photo size of 820 pixels by 360 pixels and designing within the safe zones. This will ensure that none of the critical components of your cover photo are getting cut off on mobile devices or on desktop.

The perfect Facebook cover photo size goes a long way in helping you make a great first impression with new users. Your image look good when displayed on both mobile and desktop, without bizarre cropping or the image showing up off-center. Combining the perfect cover photo size with Facebook cover photo best practices can help you build the social presence and reputation that you want to create for your business.

Facebook is looking to help Messenger desktop users celebrate the holiday season with a new set of AR effects, filters, and 360-degree backgrounds, the first effects of their type to be added to the desktop version of the app.

Users have been able to add AR effects within their regular, in-app Messenger interactions for some time, with Facebook adding 360-degree backgrounds in the app back in April. Now, they'll be available in the desktop version as well, with a range of seasonal options - as explained by Facebook:

Facebook announced the full roll-out of the desktop version of Messenger back in April, after testing it out in selected markets earlier in the year. At that time, Facebook noted that it had seen a more than a 100% increase in people using their desktop browser for audio and video calling on Messenger, as they sought to stay connected during the pandemic. Given this, Facebook sought to provide more dedicated tools to cater to the increased demand - and with COVID-19 set to keep families apart during the holidays, that will no doubt see Messenger desktop usage increase again over the next few weeks.

"To access any of the holiday filters and effects simply open the Messenger app on your desktop and start a video call, create a room, or open the Messenger camera. Click on the smiley face icon to see the filters and backgrounds tabs."

Facebook has started testing another redesign of its desktop Pages that omits the ads that normally appear on the right-hand side of the page. A reader tipped us off to the new look, and a Facebook spokesperson confirmed that this is one of the ad-free layouts the company is trying out, in addition to the one we reported on last month.

Based on the two experimental layouts, Facebook seems to have four ideas in mind of how it wants to change the current look of its desktop Pages: separate the profile photo from the cover photo, move the navigation menu to the left side of the page, move the page information boxes to the right side and remove the right-side ads altogether.

The recommended Facebook cover photo size is 851 x 315 pixels for desktop and 640 360 pixels for mobile devices. The image must have a 16:9 aspect ratio, up to 100 kilobytes in size, and come in a PNG file format.

So, we advise you to place your images, graphics, and text in the safe area in the middle. This way, you avoid getting your cover cut on the sides for the mobile view and on top and bottom for the desktop view.

Use the recommended Facebook cover photo dimensions page to make sure it looks great on all devices. Test several different images to see how they fit, and only upload a picture that fits perfectly on both desktop and mobile.

Once you've allowed microphone access to your apps, you can change the settings for each app. In Microphone settings, go to Choose which Microsoft apps can access your microphone, and turn on apps you want to use with it. For desktop apps, make sure that Allow desktop apps to access your microphone is turned on.

The Facebook cover photo size is 820 pixels wide by 312 pixels tall on desktop. However, mobile users will see 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall. The correct Facebook cover photo size is the first step to portraying the right image on social media.

Now more than ever, people are using technology to stay in touch with the people they care about, even when physically apart. Over the past month, we saw more than a 100% increase in people using their desktop browser for audio and video calling on Messenger. Now with apps for MacOS and Windows, the best of Messenger is coming to desktop, including unlimited and free group video calls.

I don't have a mobile app - it's just a desktop website integration, and don't know what a test user means in this context. I filled everything I could, but the "Submit for Review" button is still disabled.

I looked at the answers here and went to try and switch it to Live, but couldn't. Then noticed the little message on hover "You must have a valid contact email specified to make this app available to all users", then could not find where that email is (there are at least 5 different places with an email field). This answer solved my problems: Trying to setup facebook login : you must have a valid contact email specified to make this app available to all users
