Hey Everyone,

Before I gripe, let me say kudos for draining the River Kwai -what a
relief after 10 years we have a solution for the flooding in the back
of the 1210 bldg.!

I have concerns about the landscaping and the amount of money we have
spent and are currently spending on 'services' that fall short of what
we should receive. It has never looked so bad in the 10 years I have
lived hear and I feel we are wasting precious dollars. These are the
reasons why:

1) Oh, those hollies! I cannot beleive we spent $15,000.00 on them
several years ago to replace perfectly good well established Wax
Myrtles. What we have today is a series of dead eye soars that were
not taken care of once installed. It appears that we are repeating
this process. Perfect specimens being planted and not watered with the
amount of water necessary to sustain life. In addition you have well
established hardwoods, oaks, that are competing and sucking all the
nutrients away from the new plantings.

2)What's up with the ground cover. The ground was aerated, new seed,
fertilizer and a boat load of hey were put out and what we have looks
like my dearly departed granparents' barnyard. The wet fall leaves
were allowed to sit on top of the seed for no less than four weeks I
counted, suffocating it. When the leaves were blown away they sat in
the driveway for another two weeks --unacceptable!

Then there is the issue of ivy. That is the most aggressive ground
cover; it requires a good bit of maintenance. It's installation,
another failure --you cannot put new plantings in post holes dug in
hard Carolina red clay; it doesn't work (ask anybody in the business).
It is deader than a doornail.
And lastly, we have not had fresh straw put down in months!!! This
year the scapers blew away all of the straw, exposing all of the beds
with no protection this winter and it looks like well you know...did
we pay for straw.

3)What are we paying Coats? We gave them an 8% increase for what? We
are paying them at least $5000.00 more than in years past. we need to
cancel their services post haste and not pay them another dime!
Something has definitely changed; they used to be very consistent and
I was pleased with their work, but today, I believe it is egregious to
continue paying them!

That's my two cents. --sorry for the negative feedback, but it is
sincerely truthful.
