Kayaker rescued from Lake Superior thanks to help from good Samaritans

PICTURED ROCKS NATIONAL LAKESHORE, MICH., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A kayaker exploring Pictured Rocks along Lake Superior was rescued Thursday morning after park rangers received an urgent message about a person in distress.
By the time park rangers got to the location, near Miners Beach, three commercial guides were already trying to rescue the 40-year-old kayaker from the water.
The park service said their help was what ultimately saved the kayaker, who was already beginning to show signs of shock.
The kayaker has been cleared by medical responders shortly after the rescue, park rangers said.
The park service was assisted by the US Coast Guard, Alger County Sheriff's Department, and the three guides.
