Thanks to those who've been keeping an eye on the Park(ing) Day list.
In response to nefarious people recently posting unwanted junk to our
open list, this group is now "moderated".

In the open-source spirit of Park(ing), the list remains open to
anyone who wants to join. However, if you haven't posted a message
before your first posting may be delayed a day or two until an admin
verifies that your posting is for real, after which your message will
go out to the group. This should solve the problem.

Keep in touch. Park(ing) Day '08 is just nine months away!

That sounds like a very sensible policy. Cheers!

Thanks for making the list moderated and putting the extra work into weeding out the trolls.

I have a question I may as well ask sooner instead of later: has anyone who's previously organized parking day events tied it into the Sept. 21 Int'l day of Peace? My group is already committed to doing a couple Sept. 21 Peace events, and I'm trying to figure out how we could incorporate parking day into it without muddying either issue too much...

Anyone have any suggestions to share?

Bonjour Lynette...not sure what your Peace event looks like or what it is...but could it take place on a Parking Spot along a downtown street...or maybe in a parking lot....that way your message is clear and by doing it on a parking spot you tie in to the parking Day which I understand is going to be on September 18th this year...michel

Ah, well, if parking day will be on the 18th in 2008, there won't even be a conflict! (I just assumed it'd be on the 21st again.)

merci!

Hi Matt,
I am based in the UK and came across Park (ing) day last year, through Tree
Hugger I think. I am always toying with ideas to bring plants into cities
and grey areas and loved Park(ing) day. I am planning to put something
together this year in London and wondered if you had heard of any legalities
that affected last years park makers? I do have a few more questions but am
unsure where this email actually gets delivered so will wait and see if I
get a reply!
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,
James
