Subject: IA Application Flyers

 

Governor Beebe made a disaster declaration opening the state IA program today.  The counties declared were Columbia, Franklin, Grant, Johnson, Lincoln, Logan, Lonoke, Ouachita, Pulaski, Scott, Union, and white.

 

I have attached the flyer for notification of the declared Individual Assistance event from the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred on Oct 29 and 30. You  will notice that we have finally been able to combine the application process for both Temp Housing and the IF&G programs that should make it easier for those eligible people to apply.  We hope it will free up the local DHS offices to concentrate more on helping the people who rely on the programs that they usually work with. You should also notice the we spell out eligibility very clearly.  We will start taking applications on Thursday at 08:00.  The initial call volume may exceed capacity, so there is a message asking them to wait for the next available call taker.  The number to call in to make application is 888-683-2336 ( ADEM).  TDD number is 501-682-8820.

 

You can post/pass  out the flyers as you see fit in those areas that have been impacted.  .  We hope these changes will make the application process easier to use and for all to understand the eligibility.  If you have any questions, please give me a call.
