Sorry for the wait, I had to find what I’d done with the buffered area file. One time I’d been told 1000 ft. radius and another a little over 1000 ft. radius, so this map showed the concentric circles within the old 1966 wet/dry election areas. This covers schools, daycares, churches.
The great thing about Adobe files is you can zoom in and see the addresses…..the sad thing is it’s pretty obvious North Park Mall and the adjacent strips are the only areas outside the circles anywhere near Park Hill Historic to the north. They are just outside the wet/dry area, but I’m wondering how Larry’s Pizza got a license so close to a church…I guess the rules can be flexed a bit, huh? Not that I begrudge them getting the license, we need the commerce.
An interesting thing is……… the area north of I-40….where the Park Hill Vet and the “Name Changes” Hotel are located, is addressed off Main St., not JFK……..AND they’ve never been included in the wet/dry or a buffered restriction area. With a change of direction development and planning, this little area could be a gold mine. If I win the lottery I’m going to pursue it.
