An Assignment for you All... "The Underground"

Associates of Parker Industries,
In the past month, a new threat has reared it's head across multiple avenues with which I deal. It's gotten to the point that I'm growing quite concerned for it. If you could all start looking into it across your home cities and contacts, I'd be most appreciative. While my information wasn't bad, the report I was handed a few weeks ago covers it far more extensively. Here you are.
Quotes are from the report written by Constable, Guardian from Baton Rouge.
"In October 2009 the Pentacle mages of Baton Rouge stumbled upon a group that currently is being designated 'The Underground'. The group's main goal as of now is not fully understood however from the following events it is heavily suggested that they are abyssal agents bent on summoning forth great abyssal beings."
In the fall of 2009, the Baton Rouge mages were asked to look into the disappearance of a Silver Ladder named Aurora. After being led on a while goose chase, they came upon a highly magically defended storage unit. After recovering from the traps on the unit, they followed a portal through to one of the lairs of this organization. They discovered this place was used to ritually kill Aurora and several other victims. "The victims had their souls removed and placed into Soul Jar-powered dolls held in cages. The souls were then tortured by being forced to power an unknown form of battery. It is a t thsi time believed they were testing the limits and strengths of souls.
Among the souls was a mix of sleeper, sleepwalkers and a hand full of awakened souls. Events rapidly fell apart and the pentacle mages were forced to destroy the lair after rescuing the prisoner souls. After these events the underground went into hiding and were not encountered again though the investigation was ongoing."
The Underground has been caught, more recently, watching the Pentacle mages as they take place in other, outside battles. Possibly trying to see what the pentacle's strength is or gathering more identities, but not helping either side of these battles.
Now brings us to the discovery of the ship destined for international waters that was docked at Baton Rouge upon my last visit. The mages of the local consilium insisted that this ship be raided, and so I offered my assistance along with Iblis of the Silver Ladder and the local consilium. Fighting this group on their home turf proved to be difficult, and while their ship was destroyed and we got many of their books out as well as photos of the ritual circles they were using, they managed to save many things also and teleport elsewhere.
"What is currently known is The Underground is a global network of cells that appear to eb willing to use the Abyss. They are financially well connected and operate out of areas of political instability (Somalia, former Soviet bloc nations, Central and South America). Based on the recovered tomes, the Underground's research follows these lines:
1. The inherent power and metaphysical uses of the soul, Awakened or sleeper. Use as a power source, a binding agent, etc. The soul's innate connection with the Supernal, the Abyss and the Fallen World.
2. The practices and theory of abyssal and supernal summoning. Possibly ways to combine the two to create abyssal creatures as servants.
3. The philosophy and metaphysical weight of Abyssal summoning and the use of abyssal power.
It has also been concluded that the underground draws it's membership from the Seers, the Pentacle and apostates. It seems to be an organization leaning to the trade and sale of power and less one of politics or shared philosophy."
So, there you have it. Honestly? I get the feeling there isn't TOO much we can do about this now, but I wanted to bring it to your attentions. Keep your eyes open. If you're bored and feel like a crusade, this might be a good one.
