PreviouslyI updated my windows 10 to windows 11 Home through the Microsoft's website using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant. The update was successful and everything was working fine. Then I replaced my 128 GB M.2 SSD with a 256 GB PCIe NVME SSD. So, I had to install windows 11 using a bootabe USB stick. Ever since the installation, my Synaptics Fingerprint sensor is not being recognized by the system. I need some help with this. I looked for Biometric Devices in device manager it is not listed there. I tried checking for updates, there no update at all. I tried installing the synaptics driver sp81786, it didn't work as well.

The only suggestion I can offer as I posted earlier would be to check the advanced options section of the Windows update app in the settings menu and see if there are any optional updates that are available.

"Thank you very much for the solution of my problem. I didn't know about the option to install further updates in that hidden Windows Update menu. In the menu were around 20 driver-updates, that Windows had recognized as not important. I started the debugging after your second reply with the installation of the hidden updates, that I haven't found before. After this installation, all devices worked properly and also my fingerprint reader was recognized again. So it seems like, every missing driver was included in the updates. Everything is now working fine!"

Recently I've encountered problems with my fingerprint manager. Since the update it has completely gone from my settings menu on my Xperia 5. I spoke to someone from the team and they suggested backing up my phone and software repairing my phone. This didn't help one bit. And also erased everything without it backing up. Has anyone else experienced this with the fingerprint manager?

Also had the issue this morning. Rebooted my phone last night (something I rarely do) and when I turned it back on it wouldn't accept fingerprint and manager had gone. When In diagnostics, device asks to register fingerprints but system crashes saying you've timed out. I rebooted again and fingerprints are back. FLAKEY SONY! FWIW the scanner on mine was appalling for first few months (I got mine at release in Oct 2019)

I bought mine at launch day and I had no problems. Now mine won't return, I'm sick of restarting and hard resets etc. Done it all and nothing helps. So sick I'm definitely not using Sony if they can't fix what I payed for. Also as a feature that is advertised to sell the phone, I have the right to ask for my money back.

I think it's something Android-related. The fingerprint option in Settings menu of my Xperia 5 is appearing sometimes and fingerprint operates as normal for an hour or less and disappears again. I was hoping that with May update the problem will be solved, but it's still ongoing. Something inside the system struggles with this option and on the user's level we can't do anything with it. As a lifelong Sony fan, I was going to pre-order the Xperia 5 III. On another hand, I like Xperia 5 and I think it won't be obsolete at least for an year ahead. While I'm still seriously considering the Xperia update, I rarely catch myself thinking of the iPhone 13 Pro or whatever is coming this year to switch to that brand. I would never consider iPhone as an option!

I have been told by Sony that they were told by Google that the fingerprint scanner is not compatible with the latest version of Android. I think they are referring to the Sony fingerprint software. That said, the Sony software was crap with the previous version of Android until they applied a fix.

I've have the same issue and am totally fed up with it. It's been months that I can't use the Finger Print Manager. I've followed all the instructions to no avail, maybe it's just the odd unit? Maha at Sony Support Uk has asked for purchase details and I'll get a full refund for my Xperia 5 if they can't resolve in the next 2 days. What's the point of having a sensor that you can't use. I'll update when Sony responds.

The Fingerprint Google Tag Manager integration is an open-source tag template you can manually import into Google Tag Manager. It allows you to add and manage the Fingerprint JS Agent script on your website without changing the website code or redeploying it.

"You must not use device fingerprints or locally shared objects (e.g. Flash cookies, Browser Helper Objects, HTML5 local storage) other than HTTP cookies, or user-resettable device identifiers designed for use in measurement or advertising, in connection with Google Analytics."

Breaching the policy can lead to suspending or terminating your access to Google services. You can use the visitor ID provided by Fingerprint in other 3rd party tags and tools, but we advise against using it inside Google Analytics.

Note: If you want to identify visitors after an event (e.g. form submission) with minimum latency, you might want to separate loading the JS agent from the identification request. In that case, you can create two separate Fingperprint tags:

You can expose every piece of information provided in the result object as a user-defined variable and use it in the configuration fields of other tags. For example, you can use the visitorId in the metadata of 3rd party tag.

Ad-blocking browser extensions such as AdBlock, uBlock Origin, etc., can block all scripts served by Google Tag Manager, including Fingerprint. If this is a problem for your use case, see Google Tag Manager documentation for Server-side tagging and Custom domain configuration.

OBIM's services include: fingerprint, face recognition, and iris modalities (both one-to-one and one-to-many); automated match-store-share capabilities; human biometric examiners; and notification services that alert subscribers to encounters, changes in derogatory information, or other activities on individual identities.

The Automated Biometric Identification System (IDENT) is the primary DHS biometric repository, and the largest biometric repository in the U.S. Government. IDENT enables DHS operators and mission partners to more effectively and readily benefit from one another's biometric data, and is efficient for DHS, avoiding the need for duplicate systems.

OBIM's subject matter experts support DHS Components and mission partners in daily operations, developing and fielding new capabilities, and providing thought leadership on future biometric technologies.

The breadth and depth of OBIM's customer base began with a simple biometric identification service and has expanded to support complex data sharing programs that assist federal, state, and local agencies by providing a large pool of matching partners for biometric queries and interoperability with other biometric repositories, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Next Generation Identification system. A key strength of OBIM's services is that biometric matching is not limited to a single DHS Component or external mission partner but encompasses encounters across stakeholders. A single query of OBIM's biometric system can retrieve data for an individual tied to a Department of State visa application, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection log of an entry into the United States, and an immigration status change logged by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Protecting the country from transnational threats requires a strengthened homeland security enterprise that shares information across traditional organizational boundaries. Through close federal and international partnerships, DHS works to ensure that resources and information are available to international partners, giving those on the frontlines the tools they need to protect local communities. The Department's efforts include its work through the Joint Terrorism Task Force and the sharing of biometrics through IDENT with international partners seeking information on the subjects of wants, warrants, or lookouts, or any other subject of interest for administering or enforcing the law, national security, immigration, or intelligence, or carrying out DHS mission-related functions.

The SRTP is an international information sharing architecture that is scalable to any country. The SRTP pathway provides decision makers with data to assist in the adjudication of immigration benefits, enforcement actions, credentialing, and country access permissions. SRTP currently supports business use cases for refugee claimants, entry clearance (visas), foreign criminals, redocumentation, and fugitives. SRTP enables international partners to transmit and receive queries from IDENT via encrypted internet messages through the DHS gateway. The information exchanged through this automated process includes biometrics and unique person identifiers, photo(s) and biographic information, and fingerprint identification numbers.

NIEM Open is a community-driven initiative which produces a common vocabulary that enables information exchange across diverse public and private organizations, both domestically and internationally. The project accomplishes this by allowing organizations to leverage their existing investments in information systems by building the bridges for interoperability at the data level. The NIEM Open framework enables the effective and efficient sharing of critical data in a variety of areas, including the homeland security, justice, public safety, emergency and disaster management, and intelligence.
