I must be getting sentimental in my old age but I'm missing you all
and those fun bridge nights at Perch or in Ted's backyard. So, what's
everyone up to these days? Anyone still playing bridge? I know some of
you are playing regularly at the Manhattan Bridge Club.
Would anyone be interested in resurrecting the Park Slope Bridge club
at Perch, or some other local venue? If there's enough interest, I'd
be happy to coordinate it again and I would put it back onto
Meetup.com to attract new members.
Let me know what you think!
Happy Thanksgiving and hope to see you soon
Julian
Julian,
I'm definately interested. Thursday nights are best for me. It would be great to see everyone. Can we find someplace other than Perch? They are expensive with not so good food.
thanks for emailing!

Thursday sounds great for me! I’ll keep my eye open for a venue.

Thanks Kyle - and Rachel, Suresh and John too. It looks like Thursdays will be the best night so far.
I agree, we should definitely find a new venue, somewhere that is easy to get to, open late, has a liquor license, good ambience (not too noisy) and decent tables for card playing. Food would be a bonus too. Do send me you ideas!

| I checked their blog and it looks like they have a poetry reading on Dec 4th. So why don't we plan to check it out on the 11th? Rachel |

I like the 11th better. I'm having minor surgery on the 4th.

Hey, I might have found the ideal alternative venue. It's Pacific Standard, that relatively new microbrew pub on 4th Avenue, very close to the Atlantic/Pacific transit hub: http://www.pacificstandardbrooklyn.com/index.html . They have an excellent back room which is perfect for cards. The only drawback is it is booked every other Thursday by their poetry reading group, so we could only use it on the alternate Thursdays (which may be fine if we stuck to being just biweekly). But the room is free Mondays to Wednesdays if we wanted to play on another night. I popped in tonight and that room was empty.
Let me know what you think. I'm definitely open to other suggestions.

Tuesday nights are better for me, but I can meet you there 8ish on Mon or Wed. Count me in for next week!

Sorry to hear that, John. See you next time.
Hi guys,
If you still want to meet, Peter can come be our 4th. He wasn't going to come becuase he hurt his hand and is having trouble holding cards, but for a casual game I'm sure it will be OK. Also, I told him that we need his opinion on the beer options before deciding whether or not to make this our new home! (I will pass judgement on the chocolate cake situation.)
Are we still on?
Thanks

Hi everyone,
Julian found a nice spot for bridge playing (also beer drinking, map examining, dart throwing and story telling).
Are others interested in coming back to play "kitchen table bridge" with us, but just couldn't make it last night? And what about the location? Personally, it was very convenient for me - what do others think?
Hope to see you all soon, |
