Hi folks,

Peter and I are planning to play at the regional on Friday, and were wondering if anyone wants to meet up for dinner that night.  The afternoon session starts at 4, so we would probably be ready to meet up between 7:30 and 8.  If so, please let me know and I will work on finding a fun place to eat near the hotel (34th and 8th) (Korean BBQ?)

Here is the link to the regional flyer:   http://web2.acbl.org/tournaments/ads/2008/12/0812007.pdf  It's a little confusing to read, so here are some of the salient points:

1.  You can play as much or little bridge as you want.  Each game is a flat fee of $14-$17 per person

2.  Newcomer, open or senior?  Unless you have over 300 masterpoints registered with the ACBL you qualify for newcomer. But personally I like "open" (much like Sarah Palin, I'm a maverick!)

2. "Pairs" or "Swiss"?   "Pairs" means you just play with your partner.  "Swiss teams" means you get together with another pair and while one pair plays NW, the other plays EW at a different table.  Then you add your scores together for a team score.  It can be fun or friendship ending - choose your teammates wisely :-)

For those craving more detail (including a blow-by-blow description of "Mitchell movement") click here: http://www.acbl.org/play/explanationEvents.html

I hope to see you on Friday.  Happy holidays!   Rachel
