Announcement : New study group_Online Pali Study Sessions

Dear Pāli Students,

We are happy to announce a new batch of online Pāli study sessions. 

This program aims to provide you with a valuable resource to support your Pāli studies. 

Study format

These online meetings will be facilitated by a volunteer Pāli student and are intended to be more of a study group than a lecture. 

The texts for our studies will be sent in advance a few days before each lesson.

The focus of this program will be on reading the suttas themselves and less on grammar.

Participants will take turns reading a sentence or two from the Pāli text following the facilitator. Those who wish to can share their understanding of that sentence then.

The group facilitator will then offer his help to understand the text better, if necessary.

Pāli study aids and resources will be introduced over time.

We have decided to implement the following for our upcoming sessions:

• Participants are required to have some previous experience with the Pāli language.
• Each session will last for about one hour and 20 minutes.
• We will offer a batch of 15 sessions once a week over 15 weeks on Thursdays.
• Applicants should have the intention of joining all the sessions and remain for the entire session from beginning to end.
• Only 20 participants will be accepted to attend.

The sessions will be held at 07:00 Pacific Time (17:00 Israel Time) on the following Thursdays:

• December 22, 29.
• January 5, 12, 19, 26.
• February 2, 9, 16, 23.
• March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30.
