Dear Pali students,
We are looking forward to beginning our Pali studies on December 22nd.
Since our time together will be very limited, it will be helpful if you would listen to these recordings about Pali pronunciation before our first lesson.
This will allow us to spend more time practicing and actually reading together.
The first recording can be found
here.
This is a "one-day introduction to Pali" given by Sean Kerr.
I would highly recommend listening to all the recordings if you wish, but if not, you can listen only to the first recording dealing with Pali pronunciation (from minute 19:35).
Then you can listen to Goenkaji's talk about pronunciation which can be found in the Dhamma.org app.Once in the app, choose the "Library" tab. Then scroll down for "Pāḷi Education".
There choose "Pāḷi pronunciation practice: introductory talk". Sean's PDF will be helpful when you are listening to Goenkaji's talk as well (Page 3, "Pali phonetics").
We will send you a reminder before our first lesson, together with the text we will be reading.
With best wishes,
Pariyatti
