some questions about paris-traceroute

when i use paris-traceroute ,I always have problems:

 1  192.168.40.2 (192.168.40.2)  0.101ms    0.051ms    0.038ms  
 2  * * *

 4  * * *

Hello,

If 3 consecutives IP hops are not discovered (for instance due to a firewall or because those IP hops doesn't send ICMP reply before w seconds) the paris-traceroute algorithms stops.
- You can increase this limit of 3 (see option -M) and also modify the timeout value (see option -w).
- You could try to traceroute using another protocol (see option -I, -T -U and -P)
- For further details, please see paris-traceroute --help.

If the exploration always fails (for instance due to a firewall blocking the probe packet), there is no solution.
