Try Easy Jet or Ryanair they do lots of cheap flights to Europe

easyjet is probably the best option from london - watch out for cheap
deals - probably best to join their subscriber list and they will send
you a list of cheap fares

i would advise flying to charles de gaul airport as it has much easier
links to paris

You could also try Eurostar

Considering tube fare from airport to downtown and vice versa, I would
advise taking the train.
