Hello everyone,

I'm encountering a segmentation fault when running my ParFlow-CLM coupled simulation, though my parking lot and spinup tests (using the same solid file) complete successfully. This suggests the issue is specific to CLM integration.

Details:

  • Solid File: Works perfectly for non-CLM runs (attached: solidv2.txt)

  • Error: Segmentation fault during CLM initialization (MPI signal 11)

  • Environment: ParFlow 3.10.0, CLM coupling enabled

  • Attempted Fixes: Adjusted NZ layers, VariableDz settings, and CLM soil layer configurations

Request: Could you help me identify why the solid file works for standalone ParFlow but fails with CLM? I’m happy to share:

  1. The solid file (solidv2.txt)

  2. My run scripts (TCL/Python)

  3. Full error logs
    Thank you for your support!
    Hoping for a positive response
