Holiday Inn – Wausau, WI
August 16, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
DAWN is recruiting 10 – 12 teams to learn how to play the new and
exciting game “SPACE RACE”. This great new board game, developed by
the Human Services Research Institute, is a unique way for people with
disabilities to develop a personal understanding of self-
determination. Playing the game opens up questions, discussions,
understanding and opportunities for people with disabilities to make
decisions about things that really matter in their life such as:
Where do you want to live? Who do you want to live with? What do you
want to do with your life? Where to you want to work? What do you want
to do during the day? What’s important to you? What do you need to
live the life you want? And many more self-determination explorations!

In addition, each team receives additional awards as they teach other
people with disabilities how to play “SPACE RACE” throughout their
community!
