I have a field/column that is linked to a table. I dropped another table onto the report. I'm trying to un-link them but it will not allow me to. I tried to delete the report and it won't allow me to do that either.

You can delete the entire report object per usual. Also, you can use File > Revert To if you need to go back to an earlier version of the app.

Delete option not available. This field is connected to a parent record. Should I disconnect then see if I can delete?

If we are talking a Report object, then there is no way to remove a table from a Report object. Individual columns yes, but not the entire table. Revert is usually the best option if this happens by accident.
