Deliverance From The Prison-house

Sree Sree Guru Gaurangau Jayatah!

This world is the prison-house for the conditioned souls of the world. They are all under the grip of threefold afflictions: adhyatmik (mental and physical miseries,) adibhautik (afflictions inflicted by other living beings,) and adidaivik (natural calamities,) as well as suffering tremendously at the time of birth and death.
The Supreme Lord Sri Krishna has said in the Gita (7.14), 'daivi hy esa gun-mayi mama maya duratyaya mam eva ye prapadyante mayam etam taranti te'—It is extremely difficult for the conditioned souls to cross over the ocean of births and deaths and threefold afflictions due to their entanglement in the snare of Maya, the external potency consisting of three primeval qualities: sattva, raja and tama. Only the souls completely surrendered to the Lotus Feet of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna can be delivered from the shackles of Maya.'
We are to remember the six-fold teachings of sharanagati-anukulasya sankalpah pratikulya-vivarjanam raksisyatiti visvaso goptrtve varanam tatha atma-niksepa-karpanye sad-vidha saranagatih—we are to accept that which is congenial and give up that which is not congenial for worship of Krishna, we should have firm faith that He is the only sustainer and protector, we are to dedicate ourselves totally to the Lotus Feet of Krishna, and be humble by giving up all false material egos.
