When we do not get the opportunity of associating with pure devotees, we are to go through their teachings. His Divine Grace Om Visnupad 108 Sri Srimad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Thakur is the personal associate of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna, who appeared in this world when darkness descended on the horizon of pure devotion. Although all scriptures—the Vedas, Brahmasutra (Vedanta), Mahabharat, Gita, 18 Puranas, quintessence of all scriptures Srimad Bhagavatam, Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita, Sri Chaitanya Bhagavat and also the writings of the Shad-gowamis (six Goswamis)—were present, no learned person could understand the implication of the teachings of the scriptures. Unfortunate persons, who were enveloped by illusory energy, might have done heinous crimes to defame the extraordinary great personality Srila Saraswati Goswami Thakur. Although Saraswati Goswami Thakur did not do anything against them and tolerated all tortures, the Supreme Lord punished those persons. By His extraordinary personality, suddha Krishna bhakti is spread throughout the world. The Supreme Lord is the protector and sustainer of all His bona fide devotees. For instance, we can give the illustration of the biographies of Prahlad Maharaj and Ambarisa Maharaj in Srimad Bhagavatam. Hiranyakasipu and Durvasa rsi acted harshly only to prove the unparalled spiritual personalities of Prahlad and Ambarisa Maharaj. There is also the illustration of Bilvamangala Thakur. He was attached to a harlot at first, but being reproached by her, his mind changed and he became a great devotee of Sri Krishna.
