Sree Sree Guru Gaurangau Jayatah!

First offence to the Holy Name is to vilify sadhus, to disgrace the sadhus. If we discredit those who are dear to Sri Krishna, disparage them, how can He tolerate this? From whom are the glories of Sri Krishna and His service of worship, chanting of the Holy Name etc. propagated? By vaisnavas. If we commit offense unto their lotus feet, how can He tolerate? It is the greatest offense. We should not do this. We should not take such risk. We should always see our own defects. Then we can have rectifications. Conditioned souls, enslaved jivas, have the greatest drawback that they always see their own qualities and see defects in other persons. We should not see the defects of the vaisnavas, even if there are any. We should see our own defects and see qualities in others. Only then can we have rectifications; we can progress. For that reason Chaitanya Mahaprabhu has taught us how to perform Sri Krishna sankirtan—trinad-api sunicena taror-api sahishnuna amanina manadena kirtanya sada harih. By these four qualities if we can do Sri Krishna sankirtan then there is no possibility of offense. Trinad-api sunicena—I should be humbler than a blade of grass. What is the significance of saying this—humbler than the blade of grass? Grass is a negligible living being. We should be humbler than the blade of grass means we should not have any ego of this body. Grass has got some ego. When cows, goats and others tread on the grass it is subdued by them. But when they cross them, again grass brings its head up. We should not have such vanity. Grass wants to say that I am of this world. “No! I am not of this world. I am of Sri Krishna. My body belongs to Sri Krishna. My subtle body belongs to Sri Krishna. My real self belongs to Sri Krishna.” It is said in the Gita. We go through Gita but we don’t think about this. Nor we practice this. We do not believe that. Only reading is not sufficient.
