Position: Application Support
Location: Alpharetta Georgia (Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ months contract
Visa: USC/GC

About Job:
As a member of the TechOps Optimization team, your role will be dedicated to operational improvements across system, database, and network areas by bettering efficiency, reducing toil, increasing data quality, and lowering mean time to recovery.
Our teams mission:
* To refine visibility into production environment health by reducing noise and improving event data quality.
* To improve efficiency and productivity by reducing toil through the automation of repetitive tasks.
* To lower mean time to recovery by continuously improving our incident response processes.
* To increase data quality by implementing effective data governance practices and ensuring data accuracy.
Required Skills:
* 5+ years of application support experience in a Unix/Linux environment
* 5+ years of scripting experience (Python, Shell, Perl, etc.)
* Strong application, system, and network troubleshooting skills
* Strong understanding of web/app, service layer (middleware), and database server roles in an enterprise environment
* Solid knowledge of monitoring and dashboarding solutions (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, BigPanda, Netcool, Elastic, Splunk, etc.)
* Solid understanding of virtual machines, containers, and cloud computing
Preferred Skills:
* Understanding of SDLC process
* Experience with Oracles Tuxedo middleware software or similar
* Experience with ActiveMQ, Kafka, or similar message-oriented software
* SQL knowledge and understanding of relational databases
* Understanding of server, application, and network security fundamentals
* Experience using Atlassians Confluence and Jira products
* ITSM knowledge
Desired Skills:
* Knowledge of the financial industry - trading/investing, stocks, mutual funds, options, etc.
* Experience with batch job creation, scheduling, or monitoring
* Experience with load balancers and DNS
* Experience with server clustering software
