SFU is canceling the course and instructor evaluation

"No evaluation of Student Experiences with Teaching and Courses for the spring term
There are many aspects of this term that are extraordinary, including the need to rapidly switch from in-person instruction to remote instruction, coupled with the need to pivot the assessment of student learning to also be done remotely. After much thought and discussion, it was decided that the normal evaluation of student experiences with teaching and courses (
SETC) will not occur this term. We acknowledge that the expectations for both students and instructors were changed mid-stream, and any evaluation of courses cannot be independent of this shift in expectations.
We encourage individual instructors who would like to get formative feedback from their students to use informal mechanisms, such as surveys within canvas, survey monkey, or SFU Websurvey. The university is committed to understanding the student experience during these unprecedented times, and we are considering ways to gather that information from our students.

However, I would still like to collect anonymized feedback to help improve the course.
Course evaluation form:
If I see more than 30 responses on this form
as an incentive, the class gets to vote on the grade distribution
You pick up to 3 assignments that account for 60% of the grade (i.e., each 20%).
I will tally the votes and announce on Apr 10 which 3 assignments the class voted on to be 60% of the grade. The remaining assignments I will assign 10,10,15% and 5% is for class participation.
(hopefully, 3/4 of the class fills out the course evaluation forms by then)
