Hi Guys,

thanks for this worderfull tool. I got a question for u.

Is there any way to add advanced rsync features to prsync ? So that i
could use --delete rsync options for example?

I'm running ubuntu 10.04 with prsync 2.1.

I've read also the source code of the 2.3.x version to find any clues
about it, but no luck.

Thanks.

Florian

I think you're looking for the -x or -X option. Here's some info (from
prsync --help):

-x ARGS, --extra-args=ARGS
Extra command-line arguments, with processing for
spaces, quotes, and backslashes
-X ARG, --extra-arg=ARG
Extra command-line argument

I hope that helps. I'm glad to hear pssh/prsync are useful to you.
Feel free to ask any additional questions.

Thanks for your answer.

Ok that's perfect, when I read the source code I saw this:

opts.extra:

but i haven't figured out how to use it, -X is the answer.

One more things, when i use the option -e/-o to log standard and errors events, the files are always overwritten ? Is that a normal behavior? How should i proceed if i want them to be appended?

Best regards,
Florian.

Could you describe the use case where appending is desireable? It seems
to me like appending would be error-prone, and it's always possible to
write scripts to combine information after the fact.
