Citrix XenApp 6.5

Is anyone using Citrix XenApp 6.5 with Paragon/HPF? If so, any issues we should know of before upgrading from XenApp 6.0?

We are using 6.5.  There really have not been any issues that affect Paragon directly.  Our issues are more with the bugs in the product itself, but we are a few patches behind.

Here are the comments from our Tech lead.  We are preparing for go-live and 6.5 has been a big improvement in our limited testing.

 

Mck installed 4.5 for us. But after piloting a 6.5 environment many of the issues mck couldn’t resolve in the 4.5 farm were fixed. As a result the demand for more 6.5 support is increasing. So I’ve been trying to stand up a production worthy 6.5 farm over the past couple weeks. Any issues so far reported to me related to Paragon on Citrix 6.5 has been Paragon related. I have not put HPF in 6.5 yet.

The only issues we are seeing at the moment are with HPF 15. The servers seems to all the sudden lose control of memory and processors assigned, meaning they peg and it takes a reboot to reset them. However, I believe this is version 15 of HPF that is causing this because it only happens to our HPF specific servers. Everything on the Paragon side has been working perfectly.

We have also been unable to use the rapid deploy features of Citrix that allow you to stand up a server extremely quickly, but this should be fixed in a future code revision.

I would highly recommend 6.5!
