Does anyone have a good solution to help our providers take photos of patients and somehow get the photos into the chart? What providers would ultimately want is a way to take a picture with a mobile phone and somehow get that picture into Phys Doc or in some cases our ambulatory note (Practice Partner).

By default iPhone (I guess any other mobile device) moves the pictures into iCloud or in the case of Android Google+ (not good). I have seen secure texting applications be able to take photos and somehow the app takes control and doesn’t allow the photos to flow to the cloud (only allows the photo to be send in a secure text).

MPF has an application in the App Store (MPF Mobile Media Capture) that has the ability to use an iPad to take photos and have it flow back MPF but providers would like the photos in their notes. Is there a medical app that allows us to manage these photos in a secure way but also allows doctors the ability to pull them into their notes?

We are using an application called EyeFi to move files to a folder they can access to paste images into phys doc.  It is a little kludgy, requires a dedicated workstation to run the EyeFi service and does require the user to open the eyefi app on the mobile device to move the images to the network share, but it does work for the users who pay attention to the instructions.
