I am interested in paragliding and would like to get a few pointers
from some of you more experienced gliders.
Any suggestions about training or equipment for beginners?

I would suggest learning with an instructor for 2 reasons:

1) It is very easy to get dragged around and possibly hurt if you don't
know what you are doing.
2) You will probably want to beat up your instructors equipment instead
of your own when "learning the ropes."

After taking lessons, your instructor will advise which
wing/harness/reserve to buy. It will be a DHV1 or DHV1-2 wing either
new or used with very low hours. You should be near the top of the
weight class for which it is rated.

Where are you located?

Coeur d'Alene, ID. Can you reccomend any instructors? I understand
there is a school in central Washington (Wenatchee, maybe). Know
anything about it?
