We have come to the following arrangement regarding the use of the Barberton Golf Club’s facilities for landing, parking, toileting and drinking. Please note that this is not only a landing fee but rather a use of facilities fee.
The Golf Club is a closed Club and according to their constitution and law no one outside the club may use the facilities and more specifically the Bar without being a member of the club.
For us to use all the facilities or any non-member, you need to be made a day member. The day member fee for Paraglider pilots are R50/day. This will give you and your family full access to the club facilities.
If you are a regular Barbs visitor, R50/day can become very expensive an therefore we (LSSC) have with the assistance of the Barberton Golf Club Committee in particular the Club Captain, Mr. Claassens, come up with the following arrangement.
For R300/year you can become a Barberton Golf Club Paragliding Member. This will give you all the benefits of the Golf Club’s facilities for a year. An additional landing fee of R5/day will be charged to keep a record of the members’ attendance.
In exchange the Golf Club will take over the maintenance of our landing area, just below the practice green and a sign will be erected stating the site rules and landing rules. You will also receive a little ID card identifying you as a Club Member.
The guys at the Golf Club are very happy to have us, they have however over the last year or two experienced some financial strain and it is in all of our benefit to see the Golf Club recover and prosper.

The Golf Club administrator and I will be at the Golf course on Saturday morning to help the guys who want to take advantage of this yearly fee offer.
Please take special care of the rules this weekend as they have a competition on Saturday and Sunday.
