Attention all paragliding pilots

Temporary Site Closure notice

Krugersdorp flying site is closed until further notice while the Glider window proposal is being worked on.

There was an infrindgement on Sunday which resulted in problems for atns to secure adequate air safety.

We will be having another meeting with the krugersdorp flying community to try once again get commitement to the previous system of flying after obtaining permission from the lanseria tower which was implemented and all were signatory to the agreement.

Flying times where previously  6H00 - 9h00  in the morning and 1600 - Sunset in the afternoon.

The proceedure is to phone the tower ( the number is displayed on the site board and provide a pilot name license number and cel phone number.

This number must be permanently availiable so that lanseria can contact the person/pilot and communicate if there is a need to relay information or request immediate landing via the normal sahpa radio channels. This person must relay any request via sahpa radio channels.

All pilots flying must be equipped with a radio and be contactable from this person maintaining the ground comms on 141. 600 

This concession by ATNS has currently not been upheld and consequently the site has been closed until further notice.
