Come and join the Mountain Club of SA and SAHPA on Monday, 16
November 2009,
for an insight to the adventures of Pierre Carter and James
Braid at the
2009 Red Bull X-Alps Challenge.
Pierre Carter was the
first ever South African to compete in this contest.
One had to complete a
distance of 818 km by either foot or flying a
paraglider within a set time
frame of approx 2 weeks.
Pierre is not only a avid mountaineer, but has
also been part of the SA
National Paragliding team in the past. He has hiked
and climbed three of the
seven summits of the world successfully.
All
those interested in hiking, gliding, mountaineering and climbing might
find
this talk and slide show most interesting.
