Too many people without adequate skills and experience now talking about flying the Karakorum this summer. Having second thoughts now as maybe it's best to wait another year to fulfill my dream of flying in Pakistan to avoid numpties who want to kill themselves.... strewth.

Hi ifti
Lol. Abot whom u r talking. I would suggest u to plan your trip with brad. He is a frequent flyer in karakoram mountains and all pilots stay in touch with him or mr . sajjad shah ( president PAFF) if u hav time this year. Then plan and dont miss the whole year. Coz im sure next year u will come again and will become addicted. U will fly your own so forget the rest. Im sure u will hav a memorable trip in karakoram. Most of the pilots visit Pakistan experience karakoram totally different and unique. And when they leave Pakistan they express great views.
Best of luck.

Yeah Awesome Pic Brenden. Tom's been raising the bar for flying in Pakistan since he's been coming with his bold routes and professional film and photography skills.

I haven't been posting much because I'm engaged with what I'm doing here in Thailand. I have always tried to give back and help Pakistani pilots develop. I'm just hesitant to make any commitments to spend time with pilots who I haven't met when I don't fully know my plans and if I have any clients this year.

I will work it in. I will be in Booni and Chitral and try to spend time with the local pilots in May June. As well I'd like to continue having experiences like the one I had with Ashan Haider last summer.

I guess it's getting closer and people need to book tickets and time off work. If anyone wants to contact me directly my phone number in Thailand is +66 90 952 6223

Better probably just to email me or fb message. Just cut me some slack as it's hard for me to plan for the summer when it's Feburary.

Hi,
Nobody in particular just a lot of talk of Karakoram on various forums etc. I have waited 5 years to develop as a pilot and fly with a lot of very experience pilots in the UK, however, without a doubt the north of Pakistan is obviously one of the most extreme places on earth for paragliding. So why would anyone with low hours/limited experience want to risk such a dangerous terrain? I am aware of Brad quite well through FB & YT etc so wouldn't think of being without him when I do finally get the opportunity to fly the Karakoram. Anyway good luck whoever decides to visit KK and hope they remain safe.

Regards
Ifty

Dear Ifty Bhai,

Now there are many people who had flown in Karakorams. Surely a difficult region, but not inaccessible. Surely it is demanding. John Sylvester (UK) was first person to explore this region and could give us "Birdman of the Karakorams". Inspired by him Mr Brad is now the most expert pilot on Karakorams not undermining the experties of many of other friends. Even before him Mr. Leroy created the unparalelled world record of height gain. The region is quite lucrative but demand certain preparations, training, experience and knowledge and most of all Airmanship. Any one can fly the region with understanding which would require outside and regional experience. Keep hopes high, get ready to enjoy skies of Karakorams, Afterall all skies are for us the "Paragliding Pilots"

When I started learning paragliding, I was told to always remember WWW.

Blue Skies.
