Hi All,
Well there's a lot I'd like to say about recent events, as I'm pressed
for time I'll simply comment on present and future events.

I'm in Islamabad with Sajjad, Oriol Fernandez and I are getting on a
Bus to Aliabad at 2pm. Currently Olivier and Eric are in Hunza. As I
understand Rob Alex Grey and Dimitry will come to Hunza in the next
week. Glen has to leave soon from Chitral.

Julian and Daniel will come to Hunza when they arrive around the 8th.
The oxygen equipment for them will be in Hunza when they arrive.

Maybe we can update phone numbers. Although I think I have everyone
except Olivier and Eric.

I hope to find good working internet in Hunza so we can update our
spot pages. The links sent to me by everyone except Rob do not work. I
have contact with a pilot in the US who will make a page that we can
put all the spot pages on. This one location makes it a lot easier to
look up recent and current flights from pilots.

For now feel free to text or call me. Give me a couple days to get my
head together from the travel time.

Brad,

I guess your US friend with the spot page must be the one of the
following link http://chorlton.homeip.net/spotmap/scottish.html ?

If it is, both myself and Julian have our spot link on this page on
the Scottish section. I guess he can also add it to the Pakistan
section?

Daniel,
Yes it is David Wheeler and that's cool the link to the Scotish Pilots! I'm emailing him now with the addresses I have. It would be really cool to have a page showing all our locations on 1 map, even cooler if it would link our emails and phone numbers so fans watching could send messages directly to us.. or have a voting page for coolest pilot.. hey it could be like the Hunger Games where sponsors could send gifts to our locations.. wow this will be fun planning!

2 things,
1 - I actually suck at all this planning and organizing so if anyone ever has a smart idea or thinks I'm missing something feel free to jump in.

2- Paragliding in Pakistan is Cool! doing it with friends even cooler! I had a great flight yesterday trying to circumnavigate Rakaposhi but getting stuck on the north side between Diran, 6 hr flight and 4 hr bus ride and I'm back. Olivier went to Gilgit and back staying on the west side. Now Rob and the guys are on their way by road to Hunza so by next week week will be 10 pilots with Julian and Daniel That's a lot of people to help clear my lines when they get stuck in the weeds on launch :) Sajjad promises to come up for a visit next week as well.

For the future I'm sure pilots will want to visit Chitral and Booni so if the local pilots could keep us informed of the NOC situation. Even I'm wondering if I came just to Booni for a night or 2 would it be a problem with the local police?

Thanks again for all your support and information sharing,
Brad

All,

The SPOT page is now set up and can be found at
http://chorlton.homeip.net/spotmap/pakistan.html
There should be a bit of a crowd of followers from Scotland.

I saw Julian last night and he has flown so much in Scotland in the
last 10 days that he was not sure he could face a paragliding holiday
just now! Maybe he will take up the job of launch assistant in
Karimabad while he recovers from his flying indigestion.

Julian is flying to Islamabad tomorrow night and I will follow the
next night. If the weather permits we should be in Gilgit on Sunday
morning and in Karimabad later in the afternoon.

In packing mode now and wondering how I am going to get my pile of
stuff to fit in my bags. Had a fright when going on the scales today
with my full fliyng gear and cold weather clothing. Sitting at 105kg
with no food, no water and still to add the O2 system. The top of the
weight range for the wing is 100kg! I hope there is a bit of a breeze
at take off because I am not sure I can run at 50 km/h...

To all my friends in Pakistan! Thank you for your awesome hospitality, help and friendship. It was great to visit again after my time here in 2010 and get to see many of you and also to meet new pilots. A huge thank you to Sajjad Shah and the work he has done for all the visiting foreign pilots and the support he offers local pilots through PAFF. Sajjad, your enthusiasm and support for paragliding and its growth here is appreciated by all!

To Farhad and the rest of the Chitral/Booni team of pilots, thanks for all you did to help us get permission to fly! Without your help it would have been a very different outcome I am sure. Thanks for all the great times we had together, the flying, the dinners and parties!

Thanks also to the foreign pilots. It was great to fly with you; Julian and Daniel (Scottish mega pilots), Rob (awesome kiwi xc pilot!), Alex (the awesome OZ pilot), Adrian (fantastic new xc flyer), Dimitry (my good Russian room mate), Pierre, Olivier (collectively known as the Frenchies), Eric, Olivier and Oriol and of course Brad... who deserves his Pakistani  name "Mr. Brad" alongside the very famous "Mr John". Brad... you are an inspiration for all us mortal pilots who aspire to the dizzy heights of flying in Pakistan alongside you! Thanks for all your help and organisation with the helicopter bond and supplying the oxygen systems for hire...awesome.. can't thank you enough (and also a big thanks to Sajjad who organised everything in Rawalpindi when we arrived). To both of you...your enthusiasm never waivers and your help and advice is the best....thanks.

To Daniel... heal quickly and get back in the sky... our best wishes are with you now......!

I am already planning on returning in 2014 and inshallah I will be seeing you again in a few years. To all of you I wish you safe and happy flying....take care, fly high, fly far....I look forward to hearing from you anytime...Grey (email nimb...@hotmail.com)

ps...I've written a blog of my stay in Pakistan... you can view at www.findgrey.blogspot.com , Rob's blog is www.parakiwi.blogspot.com and Alex's blog is www.ayashko.blogspot.com
