Alerting - not working

We ahve a working install of paragent and use an MSI for agent
installation, everything seems to be working properly except that when
we configure alerting for a PC and the PC should triger an alert it is
not. we hav econfirmed that port 6103 is open the pc appears up in the
console and from what I can tell the alerts.txt file of the agent is
updated to reflect the new alert and it's parameters but ti never
triggers. is there something we missed tha tneeds to be configured in
order to allow the agent to detect and triger alerts? Thank you in
