< Wikinson/Asburn quarters >
Kat sighed softly as she entered her quarters she shared with
Jason after having put in long hours at the hospital not that the
departments were all that busy. She quickly kicked off her shoes and
began to head straight for her room figuring Jason would be resting like
he was supposed to.
Jason
was in bed, doing some reading. Normally he mostly likely would have
been doing something instead of rest, but he didn’t want to get in
trouble with Cait or Kat, especially Kat because she could deny him
certain privileges.
Kat
sauntered into the bedroom noticing Jason on the bed appearing to be
following doctor’s orders. “Is that any good?” she asked as she walked
towards the bed leaning over to kiss his forehead before sitting on the
bed next to him.
“It’s
called Eye of the World... it’s part of the Wheel of time series. I’ve
heard it’s really good but right now I feel like they are rushing to
introduce a lot of characters.” Jason told her. He put his arm around
Kat when she sat down next to him.
“I
don’t believe I’ve read that..” she said softly carefully leaning
against him as Jason slid his arm around her. “And how’s the hand?” she
asked being not only a concerned girlfriend but also a good physician.
“It’s
alright, a little stiff but I don’t foresee that lasting more than
another day,” Jason told her. He marked his spot in the book and put it
away, “How is the leg? You know... besides lovely.” he asked.
“stiff
huh...” she said glancing at his hand for a moment. “It seems to be
okay but if you feel you need to see it doctor..” she said teasingly.
She looked back at his hand holding out one of hers and motioning with
her fingers for him to let her take a look by placing his hand in hers.
Jason
placed his hand on Kat’s, giving it over to her for her examination.
“Well I can’t say no to you,” he said teasingly. “So what is your
diagnosis?” he asked.
Kat
blushed a bit. “better not say no.” she murmured teasingly as she
looked over his hand moving his fingers first then nudging him to move
them on his own. “It seems to be healing pretty well...you are moving
your fingers periodically right?” she asked. “to keep them from getting
too stiff.” she added. “My diagnosis, doctor is you still have a pretty
sore hand...” she told him. “I recommend continued rest under the
strictest supervision by your physician” she murmured moving to kiss him
softly.
Jason
nodded, “Yes, I do... every so often.” he told her. He chuckled and
kissed Kat back, “I don’t know... I can be a difficult patient...” he
teased her. He put his arm around her and pulled her closer to him.
Kat
slid closer to Jason. “And..I....can be a very stubborn but persuasive
doctor.” she teased back. She winced a little as Jason’s arm went back
around her. “I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be there for your
surgery......more than likely Cait would have given me the boot if I had
been.” she teased.
Jason
frowned at Kat, “Are you ok?” he asked since she winced at him pulling
her. He smiled at her, “I would have preferred if you had done it to be
honest...” he told her. He sighed thinking back at the surgery.
“I’m fine just have a sore spot near my shoulder.” she told him.
“Cait’s a fine surgeon.....why, did something happen in there?” she
asked. “The waiting about drove me crazy not knowing how things went.”
she added.
Jason
smiled at her, “I just don’t think Cait can stop being a doctor, even
when her patient is a doctor,” he said with a chuckle. “Do you want me
to take a look at your shoulder?” he asked her.
Kat giggled. “I have to agree there....” she said recalling how Cait
was when she treated her. “Yes I would actually.” she said curious to
know why it was bothering her so much.
Jason
moved his arm from around her so she could take her tunic off, and he
could get a better view of her shoulder. “Kat...” he said softly to her.
Kat
helped Jason with her tunic wincing again as they removed it. “Yes?”
she said sounding a little worried. “What is it Jason?” she asked.
Jason
kissed Kat’s shoulder, “I love you.” he told her with a smile. he
didn’t have his tricorder with him, so he would have to do a visual
examination of the injury. Gingerly he touched her shoulder until he
found the injury.
Kat
sighed softly as Jason kissed her shoulder. “I love you too Jason” she
responded then jumped as he pressed on the sore spot. “ouch.....right
there.” she said.
“Sorry
I missed that before, but it doesn’t look bad to me... just needs a
little time to heal up.” Jason told her. He lightly pressed on the
injury just to make sure there was nothing they should worry about.
Kat
jumped again as he pressed the spot. “bruise?” she asked. “It’s
okay...you were focusing on my leg and had no idea.” she told him. “Glad
its nothing serious.” she explained.
“I’m
not finding anything that feels unusual, or broken. So yeah, I think it
is just a bruise.” Jason told her. “Take two aspirin and call me in the
morning,” he teased.
Kat breathed a sigh of relief “Very clever love...” she mused. “you..... know what you’ll get in the morning...” she teased.
“Something
to wrap my hand around... you know... to make sure it doesn’t stay
stiff...” he teased as he looked at her with a smile. Jason opened and
closed his hands a few times, just to stretch it some more.
Kat giggled softly. “Oh I’m sure you’ll exercise that hand alot now that I can spend a little time with you.” she teased.
Jason
smiled at Kat, “I don’t think I could ask for a better caretaker than
you, Meow,” he told her, using the nickname that as far as he knew only
he used.
Kat
moved to wrap her arms around Jason again kissing him softly. “Taking
care of you is My pleasure Catnip!” she said kissing him again. He was
the only one to call her by that nickname, he’d be the only person
allowed.
Jason smiled and kissed her back both times, his arms going back around her. “I’ve missed you today,” he told her.
“I
missed you too...” she said softly. “Especially when things started to
wind down at the hospital.“ she explained nestling in his arms. “Waiting
for the end of shift was almost unbearable because I wanted to hurry
home to you.”
Jason
chucked as he looked at Kat, “Sounds like you needed some distraction
at work,” he told her. “I could read much, I must admit, I kept looking
over at the clock to see how much longer until you got home.”
“I
just really missed my favorite distraction.” Kat told him giving Jason a
playful nudge. “So when did Cait say you could return to work?” she
asked sliding her hand over his stomach, fingers toying with his shirt.
She knew his recovery wouldn’t take all that long especially after she
had a chance to examine his hand again.
“She
only told me I had to take it easy for 24 hours, she didn’t say I had
to miss work...” Jason told her, “So I don’t plan to miss my shift
tomorrow... Unless my personal doctor tells me differently,” he told her
teasingly with a smile.
“Hmm....24
hours huh...” Kat murmured thinking aloud. “Suppose that all depends on
how well the patient sweet talks his doctor into giving him an extra
day to recuperate.” she said softly. “She might be convinced to give a
day of complete bed rest.” she teased.
“Well...
let me think about it... this extra day... does it come with complete
attention of my personal doctor?” he asked with a smile. Jason squeezed
her to him a little as he looked into her eyes, it was quick for him to
learn that he was at his happiest with her near him.
Kat
blushed lightly. “Of course.....it does.” she told him. “How else could
she supervise her patients recovery?” she added teasingly. Kat
certainly felt like her life was complete whenever she was near Jason.
“She might decide he needs much tender loving care.”
Jason
smiled again, something he found incredibly easy to do with Kat. “That
does sound wonder, tender love and care in paradise,” he teased with a
chuckle. With his injured hand he reached over to hold onto one of Kat’s
hand.
Kat
drew Jason’s injured hand to her lips and kissed it softly. She giggled
softly gazing at Jason. “our own private paradise..” she murmured.
Jason
chuckled and nod, “A place away from all the stresses of life,” he told
her. He leaned over and kissed Kat, “Have you eaten yet?” he asked her.
Kat
smiled and nodded. “Mhmm...perfect prescription for stress relief.” she
said softly shifting her position on the bed just a bit. “Not yet..”
she answered feeling her stomach start to rumble.
Jason
chuckled a bit, “I think your stomach is trying to talk my Love,” he
told her. He placed a hand on her stomach, and for a moment thought
about doing some scans but pushed that aside, that could wait for
another time.
Kat
giggled. “I think it might be because I missed lunch, love.” she told
him watching as he placed his hand on her stomach which wasn’t something
he did often.
Jason
shook his head but smiled at Kat, “That isn’t good... You’re a doctor
you should know better...” he teased. “You should get something to eat.”
Kat
pouted at Jason. “I know....but I had alot on my mind at the time.” she
said. “To be honest I really wasn’t all that hungry then.” she added
hesitant to get up from the bed to go fix something for the two of them.
“What about you?” she asked.
“I
had lunch, but not dinner,” Jason told her. Since he had been relaxing
and lounging back he wasn’t really hungry himself but he could still eat
a little. He got up from the bed and followed Kat, to watch her work.
Kat
sauntered towards the little kitchenette a few steps ahead of Jason as
usual or so it seemed. “What would you like for dinner?” she asked
before going to the small fridge to see what they had knowing the
replicator use still had restrictions. In the meantime she grabbed out a
couple of pans and then moved to the cupboards to take out two place
settings of dishes.
He
smiled at Kat’s backside. “Well you know what I would like... but as
far as food... Stir fry?” Jason suggested. All he knew of cooking Kat
herself had taught him but there had not been much time for too many
lessons just yet. From what he knew of Stir fry it seemed that anything
could be used as long as it could be fried.
Kat
turned to Jason and smirked. “Can’t have dessert before dinner.” she
teased while grabbing some meat and vegetables out of the fridge to set
on the counter. She then moved to grabs seasoning she’d need to add to
the meat and vegetable mixture while it cooked. She made pretty fast
work of fixing their dinner as stir fry really didn’t take that long at
all once the ingredients were prepared. She then served up two plates
and set them on the small table. “Would you mind getting the drinks
while I quickly clean up.” she asked taking the pans to the sink and
quickly washing them and all the other utensils she used to cook their
meal.
Jason
got glasses, “What shall we have to drink tonight?” he asked as he put
the empty glasses on the table. He breathe deeply through his nose, even
if it has been simple to make it still smelled wonderful. He moved
behind Kat and kissed her neck, “That smells good.” he told her.
“I
was kinda thinking a little wine would be good.” she suggested. “But
you decide, love” she said softly tilting her head as he kissed her
neck.
“I
think I can handle a little wine...” he told her. He placed a hand on
her side and gave it a little squeeze before heading to get the bottle.
He placed the bottle down on the table, and turned to look at Kat once
more.
Kat
grinned as Jason gave her a light squeeze. “good....”she murmured
starting to move towards the table. She opened the wine and poured both
glasses before taking her seat on one side of the table. “lets eat...”
Jason
sat down and smiled over at Kat. He held his glass up toward Kat,
“Too... personal doctors,” he told her and then waited for her to tap
her glass against his.
Kat
held up her glass tapping it against Jason’s when he made the toast.
“And TLC..” she added. She picked up her fork and began to eat the stir
fry.
Jason took a sip of the wine and put the glass down. He smiled over at Kat and started to eat the food she had made.
Kat
continued to eat her meal sliding one hand across the table to rest on
Jason’s injured hand.”So what would you like to do after dinner, love?”
she asked taking another bite of the stir fry and then a sip of the
wine.
