(Backlog:  The Following Takes Place prior to Yim'Bar's Conversation with The Captain and Lox)

[The Tactical Briefing Room, The Shack, Starfleet Compound]

"Alright, everyone put on your game face, this is the real deal."  Yim'Bar said in order to reign in the grab ass.

Ensign Argo dropped the smile and sat down leaning forward listening intently to Cho'Lu and Lucky also straightened himself though took a seat beside her.

Shadow remained standing and looked every bit serious as he waited for their briefing.

Scrounge and Heart also stood being ever attentive now that things were under way for the laying out of this mission.

Yim'Bar pulled up a screen on the wall behind him.  He grabbed a laser pointer and shone a dot on a building on the model in front of the team.  The model had been growing over the weeks, Lucky was really getting into the work.  He had even stated that some of the buildings could light up for more authentic representation of the colony.

"Our sensor stopped working ten meters below the surface near this building.  We know that there is no entry to the subterranean system near this section but there has to be a way, perhaps through this building adjacent or this one two blocks down.  We will deploy into the Warren and approach this location and then work down towards the second option.  We will remain together for the duration of this mission in standard stacks.  Shadow will take point, I will follow.  Lace and Lucky will follow and Heart and Scrounge will pull rear guard.  We will advance and search for intel and for Senior and Bullseye.  Be ready for anything, I have a feeling we are going into the fox's den and he had teeth."  Yim'Bar paused, "Any questions?"

Ensign Argo leaned forward intently watching and listening as her eyes moved over the screen memorizing the layout and what they intended to do. She looked at Yim'Bar, "Sir is this a kill situation or are we going to stun and take prisoners? Might be wise to at least have a couple to keep and interrogate if nothing else."

Shadow nodded his agreement about taking point and looked around at the group a moment, "Normally I would suggest we break into two groups and come in on different sides for the reason we are going to be like sitting ducks if we are all together in a line. I don't relish the though of being a target duck in a shooting gallery or having my team in that situation sir."

Lucky shifted with a glance and quick grin at Lace before turning his attention back to the present conversation, "They will be expecting us Sir to come for our guys so we are going to be walking into a trap either way it goes. Hit them fast and hard and we might throw them off guard if we have two teams we can double the impact from two sides."

"We will remain together as one team to insure that no more of us get left behind and because we know they are going to be prepared for us.  We stand a better chance as one team of returning home.  Besides we will be underground in tight corridors which we do not have a map for or knowledge of.  If we need to break into two teams for tactical reasons, we will once we see the situation.  As for Kill Missions, we do not conduct those kinds of operations, if we intended to kill em we would just crash the building down on them  Everyone will set for maximum stun and if someone seems of high enough value, we will bring them back with us.  Remember we do not have hard intelligence that Senior and Bullseye are here, this is where the t5hug we took prisoner has gone.  My hope is that he will lead us to the spot where Senior is or to information of his whereabouts."  Yim'Bar paused for a minute in thought, "Keep shooting the questions, this is how we are going to survive this thing."

Shadow looked thoughtful a moment, "Do we have anything like flash grenades we could use or something close to them to throw off the enemies we encounter? It would make it a lot easier if we have them or something similar if we get out manned."

Ensign Argo nodded her head, "Since we don't have a map for the underground area we are going is there some kind of equipment that one of us could take that would map where we are going as we make our way through it? The information could be useful at some point in time to others as well."

"The Tricorder will record the data and further if we rig it scientific we can get geologicals and other pertinent data that will be helpful for the future.  Shadow we have some standard issue stun grenades, we can use.  Lucky can tool together something for a visual or sonic disruption that could act as you have suggested."  Yim'Bar said.

"Sir, I suggest we go with standards as we have no time and they are less likely to fail, Lucky is good at his job but he needs time to test new gear before we deploy it into the field." Scrounge smiled at Lucky as he took a little shot at him but he was the demolitions expert on the team and Yim'Bar trusted his opinion.

Ensign Argo smiled a bit at Lucky and Scrounge before looking back at Yim'Bar with a nod, "Then I will leave that particular data gathering to Heart as I am sure he will be carrying a tricorder. I think that should cover it Sir all but getting ready that is."

Shadow nods content with what they had, "I can make the stun grenades work well enough but I think everyone should be carrying a couple just to be on the safe side. We know we are not going to be alone and it might be a trap so they might have someone watching and come in behind us so it would be beneficial if everyone were carrying a few."

"Let's Roll." Yim'Bar said, "Sure wish we had a ground vehicle.  Maybe we can procure something for our next mission." And the team exited the Starfleet compound in the cover of a forced darkness.

[An Abandoned Building, Sector Three, Paradise Colony]

They arrived at an abandoned building near the new Hospital.  The terrain was rocky and rubble filled.  The building seemed to be leaning on the one located next to it.  The door was hanging sideways on its hinges, it hadn't moved in forever.  "Lace, you, Lucky and Shadow scout us a secondary entrance.  They are not entering here.  The rest of us will deploy for cover and await your discoveries.  Move." Yim'Bar instructed.

Shadow took point and waved Lace and Lucky to follow but fan out just a slight bit using hand signals and stepped as quietly as he could given the terrain they were in. They slowly made their way around the first building and Shadow bent down after signaling the small group to stop a second at the back of the building. He was studying the ground where it seemed there was some disturbance in the rubble, something most wouldn't have caught. He stood up after looking further to their left and signaled with his hand to Lace and Lucky to move towards the left.

Lace and Lucky nod keeping silent as they moved carefully in the direction indicated keeping their eyes open as they went. They made it to the next building and followed Shadow as he studied the ground and stopped at what looked like a solid wall to her. She watched Shadow as he pointed at the wall and then motioned them back to where they left the others waiting.

Yim'Bar deployed the remainder of the team deep in the cover of shadows and rubble.  They secured the rear side of the building from nearby as Argo's team checked for an entryway that was in use.  He saw the three member team returning and waved them over./  He then rallied the entire team on his position, a little crater created by a nearby piece of rubble removal machinery.  Lox was obviously at work in this area beginning the rebuild.  Yim'Bar hoped the tunnel access was going to be useful.  He loathed having to search the whole are looking for the way in.  "What did you find?" he whispered, the remainder of the Team were all defensive and protecting every angle.

Shadow nodded as he began to describe what he saw whispering back, "Sir they are entering from the back of this building. The path is mostly concealed and if one didn't know what they were looking for they would miss it entirely. Looks to be heavily traveled though they have tried hard to conceal that fact. The door is barely visible at the back and seems to be some kind of code operated device to open the door. Hopefully if Lucky can get the door open it will slide quietly and I almost bank on that."

"Okay we are going in.  Reform the team formation and let's go see if we can find our boys."  Yim'Bar commanded.

Yim'Bar stayed low as they crossed to the door, the entire team moving as one, as they had trained over and over.  It was like a machine, fast, soft, quiet, alert and deadly.  "Lucky make sure it is safe and get us through the door."  Yim'Bar said as they clogged up near the entryway.

Lucky gave a salute to Yim'Bar and turned to the code lock and began work on it punching in numbers rather quickly on the little pad on the door. With some luck he would be able to figure it out and get it open soon. He seemed to have a magic touch when it came to these things. After about fifteen tense minutes he snapped his fingers as the door slid open quietly and he grinned.

Ensign Argo stood watch beside Lucky keeping her phaser in hand on heavy stun should anyone show up unexpectedly while they were getting the door open. Last thing she wanted was for them to be alerted to their being there right at this moment.

Shadow stood on the other side his own phaser drawn as he crouched down by the corner of the building peeking around it with a little mirror. He didn't relish the idea of being snuck up on unaware and was covering all the bases he could until the door was open with a soft whoosh and slid back soundlessly showing a softly lit interior of the building.

"Well they know we are here now, everyone in and close the door behind us. Remember we need to be sterile about this and careful.  Watch for surprises, Shadow lead us.  We will take readings at any junctions we come too and proceed in the direction of the most life signs, if any.  Failing that take a right turn."  Yim'Bar said.  "Scrounge watch our six and everyone stay in contact with each other.  Argo keep the tricorder going with the mapping application, if we get lost or turned around you got to get us out."

Shadow moved ahead of the others and after the orders were given while he looked around the floor to see where the disturbances would lead but in side there was little to tell from except small clumps of dirt here and there almost as if someone cleaned up often in here. With a hand signal to everyone to move out Shadow slowly moved in the direction of the small particles on the floor and as he looked up saw it was leading them towards a bunch of crates.

Scrounge brought up the rear of the group ready with his phaser as they moved through the old warehouse or what appeared to be one anyway. His eyes swept left and right as if expecting someone to jump out at them from the quiet surroundings.

Ensign Argo swept the tricorder slowly around letting it collect information with in its range as she walked before Lucky and occasionally feeling his hand on her arm to guide her in the right direction keeping her with the others as they moved as quietly as possible towards what she hoped was the way down into a passage. Her phaser was in her free hand and she kept it at the ready should they get surprised by anyone or anything.

Heart could have very well done the readings with the tricorder but let Ensign Argo have it so he could concentrate more on their surroundings and just in case others needed medical attention at least he would have his hands free. His biggest concern was every ones welfare and in the event they found the two missing men he might be needed to give them some aide depending on their current condition when and if they are found.

"Room ahead," whispered Shadow.  The whole team slowed to an almost crawl.  Everyone stacked up and prepared for entry.  This operation was one they had all masters.  It was like ballet with hot weapons.  When the signal ran down the line from Scrounge to Yim'Bar showing readiness, Yim'Bar paused, this was the point of no return.  Yim'Bar looked back at Lia for a moment and spoke mainly with his eyes, "No turning back from here, no matter what we get our man."  His voice was barely audible.  "How many are in there?"  Yim'Bar could sense Shadow getting antsy.

Ensign Argo looked back at Yim'Bar her eyes locked with his a moment and gave a barely visible nod of her head that meant she was with him completely and finally broke the eye contact to look down at the tricorder a moment keeping her voice low, "Two life signs Sir. One to the left and one to the right." as she indicates with her free hand about where the men in the room were standing.

"Go." Yim'Bar stated and the whole stack entered into the space.

The speed and occurrences of the next few seconds was blinding.  Yim'Bar heard the shouts of the men they encountered.  The two men were armed with what looked like Federation standard phasers.  They were ready for the team, they knew they were coming. As soon as the team rounded the corner Shadow engaged one and had dispatched him before he could even think to fire.

The other man appeared in Lia's sector and leveled his weapon depressing the fire button on his phaser.

Ensign Argo knew about where the two men were and so when she filed in the door immediately she tucked and rolled coming up to her knees and moved slightly as phaser fire skimmed over her left shoulder barely touching her and she brought up her own phaser as she slightly turned returning the fire in seconds with her own phaser and catching the man in his upper thigh before he had a chance to move out the way. The tricorder was tucked to her mid section so when she rolled it wouldn't be damaged by it. In fact Lia didn't even notice the slight burn on her left shoulder as she stood up and quickly began to move the tricorder around the room.

"Clear all around!" Scrounge said as he entered, "Two tangos down."

"Secure those two Lucky and Scrounge, Shadow cover that corridor to our front we are getting loud and this is a hot area.  Heart get over here and work some of your love on Lace.  Lucky see if you can find anything of value on them or any of this gear in here."  Yim'Bar said and moved up next to Shadow to assist in securing the corridor to their front.

The room was some form of lounge area.  It had a food preparation area connected to it on one side which was empty save a small convection oven and a refrigerator.  There was a lounge and several chairs.  A small table that could seat four had a number of playing cards strewn across it.  A small personal computing device sat on the table as well.  The men seem devoid of any obvious identification or specialized equipment save the Federation Standard Issue phasers.

Ensign Argo moves over to the downed man once Lucky had him secured and picked up the phaser he was using and turned it over in her hands looking at it, "This is not good." and brings the phaser over to Yim'Bar, "Sir this phaser belongs to Bullseye." and points to the engraved bullseye on the under side of the phaser.

"Lay those two out on the floor, secure them with flex ties and we will leave them here.  That stun will wear off in seven or eight hours.  On the way out we might take them with us if we have the ability too otherwise let them wake up wonderingwhat happened."  Yim'Bar shook his head "That is a serious discovery and issue but it also says we are on the right track.  Let's move out."  Yim'Bar said to Argo about the marked gear...
