[Paradise-IV] SD970317.20 JL Security gets inspected (Lt Cmdr Lox, Ens Argo)

on duty. "Would you please inform whom-ever is currently top officer on duty
the Lt. Commander Lox, Chief of Operations, is here to inspect resource usage in
this department." He waited to see what sort of reaction he received before
looking around for a seat to wait.
Ensign Argo was sitting at a station writting up a report for a couple of minor
complaints she recieved and looked up at the man speaking and stood up quickly,
"Yes Sir right away Lieutenant Commander Lox." and tapped her comm badge,
~"Ensign Argo to Lieutenant Commander Cho'Lu. I have a Lieutenant Commander Lox
here to see you Sir."~
Justin took a seat while waiting for the Security Chief.
Ensign Argo watched Justin a moment before speaking, "I am sorry Sir I am not
sure why it is taking so long but can I offer you a drink? There is some coffee
or water if you prefer?" and moved from behind the desk leaving the report
undone for the
time being.
"I'm all right. I'm not here to disrupt things, just a spot inspection of
resource usage." Justin said.
Ensign Argo nodded her head in understanding, "I am sure you must be a busy man
Sir. Sorry for the lack of politness, Ensign Argo. I am the assistant leader of
Alpha team so maybe I can help you with what you need. Where would you like to
start Sir?"
"I'd like to know about your energy usage. Why don't we start in the armory."
Justin said.
Ensign Argo nodded her Justin and turned to a man sitting nearby, "Lucky if Blue
happens to show up let him know where we are or ask him to get in touch with me
please?"
Lucky looks up and grins a bit, "Sure thing Lace. I will jump on it the second
Blue pops in."
Ensign Argo chuckled slightly, "Thank you Lucky." and turns back to Justin with
a wave of her hand, "Please Sir if you will follow me I will show you to the
armory." And heads in that direction.
Justin followed. "We have been using too much power in all departments, and I
need to track down where and why. It is imperative that we give the Civilians
what they need, and more. So, I am looking for ways for us to make due and
conserve everything we can."
Ensign Argo nods her head, "I can understand that and we try to keep it at just
the bare minimum we can around here. In fact we use a lot of what Sing has as
far as spare weapons. Sing is our martialartist specialist and we do a lot of
training with him. Lucky is the one that fixes old stuff around here. He has a
real talent for that sort of thing." and opens the door to the building where
the armory is and heads down the hall towards where Sing is practicing and the
armory is.
"I saw some of that at the Hospital opening. I'd like to have words with you
department head on that score. I saw use of a lot of hardware, much that isn't
standard Starfleet Issue, and not any manifest I've ever seen that came or went
from this rock." Justin stated as he followed along with Argo. "Was any of it
replicated after our arrival?"
Ensign Argo glances at Justin a moment sizing him up a bit, "Yes there was use
of some of them then and no I don't believe any was replicated not as far as I
know of since I have been here Sir. As far as I know the team I work with could
have brought all these with them when they arrived here. I believe the idea of
having them was to cut down on the use of replicating weapons that would be
needed by supplying some others as a back up." and she stops as she opens the
door to the armory and steps aside so Justin can take a look around the room,
"More specific details on this particular matter I am sure Lieutenant Commander
Cho'Lu would be best to ask since I haven't been here very long so don't know
the history yet."
Room holds lockers all around the walls and there are benches here and there
with different types of weapons on them. Only standard weapon is the phase one
phaser which there are only spares one for each of the team members should
anything happen to
The ones they have. The rest are various knives and such spread around.
"Where do you charge your phasers?" Justin asked as he looked around the armory.
Ensign Argo turned and walked over to a locker and opened it up, "The spare
energy cells are here. we have a few only and are kept on record in the office.
Everything taken from here is logged and by whom it went to as well as when."
"I'd like to see that log please." Just asked. "I show a lot of energy usage
from this department. Both in replicator activity and in general power
consumption. I'm just trying to figure out why, and what we can cut down on."
Ensign Argo closed the locker and turned towards Justin, "The log is at the desk
in the drawer in the office where I was stationed at. I can't speak for what the
guys do when I am off but when I am here I will try to make the necessary
changes to help out the current problem. I do know the guys tend to leave lights
on far too much and I have been trying to break them of that habbit. If it helps
I will tell the guys that any replicator use must be authorized before it can
take place. Will that be satisfactory Sir?" she said as she headed for the door
of the armory and clicked the light off as they left the door of the armory
"It would be better if they didn't use the replicator at all. Use what we have
instead of making what they want." Justin said. "Some things I can understand,
but most of what we need, we already have from off the Vimyridge." He followed.
Ensign Argo nodded, "Yes Sir I fully understand. We will just have to make due
with what we have on hand. I will make that plain and clear to the guys." And
headed out the building back to the office turning off lights as she went. Back
in the
main office she went to her desk and pulled open the drawer and took out a file
and handed it over to Justin, "Here is the log Sir."
Justin looked it over, then compared it to the PADD he had. "Looks to be in
order. There are a few missing entries, so someone isn't logging their usage.
That can be taken care of though. Thank you ensign."
Ensign Argo smiled as she took bak the file, "Welcome Sir. I will make sure the
guys understand the importance of signing this log. I am glad I could be of
service to you. If there is anything else I need to be aware of please don't
hesitate to bring it to my attention." and placed the log back in the drawer.
"Will do." With that Justin headed out of security and presumably to
Operations.
